Any ideas on how they are?

I am moving to an estate where only they are available, apparently, but it also seems like they piggyback off of Openserve…

Honestly, just more info on them would be appreciated.

Hoping I can finagle an Openserve install, and continue with @websquadza as my ISP, as they have been great!

Friend of mine is in a complex with them as the provider. Hasn't reported any real issues with them. Cool Ideas and Afrihost supports them as an ISP. Pricing is on the higher side...

Clear Access is a FNO on their own and they manage their own infrastructure.

Clear Access is a great ISP. I am also in a complex and couldn't really opt for another FNO. They were good the the past year now. Only downside is, their prices are extremely high, struggling to get hold of their support team if you are having an issue. Plus, when you live stream, you will experience disconnections occasionally. But when the network is up and running, it is really great. Oh and last but not least, when you have a 25mbps, 50mbps or 100mbps Line, you will get less than those speeds. So, you won't get the full speeds unless Clear Access send a technician to make changes on the line or maybe change the ONU if need be.

I can't tell you to sign up because, you can't cancel before the period of 12 months. If you cancel before the 12 months, you will be liable to pay lots of fees for canceling and you must send the router back to their office's with your own money.

Clear Access also doesn't double up the bandwidth like any other ISP in South Africa because they have their own infrastructure. Maybe in 5 - 7 years, they might offer double bandwidth for customers to upgrade the lines. But they NEVER do that.

It is your call buddy. Hope you will find a ISP that will offer the service you are looking for.

CA is my ISP and FNO for several months now.

They communicate very well with outages via emails and SMS's and my area has a backup battery so can run WiFi when there is loadshedding as long as you can power your router and ONT.

They had a double up promo for the last 2 months as well. Their support is 24 hours so you can always call them.
I get consistent 25/25 speeds.
I signed up when they were running a promo when there was no "activation fee".

I didn't knew CA has a double up promo really...I am now with CA for more than a year and they never informed me about a promo. That was probably for newbies only and not for existing customers because I know that CA will never do a double up promo permanently like other FNOs or ISPs for the same monthly premium.

Lol, it is still sad though because it is not permanent. Clear Access will never double up data permanently like other FNOs or ISPs. It is temporary. So, it is kinda pointless because after the 31st of January 2023, you will revert back to your normal data plan. If you want to keep running the promo, then you should upgrade. Not a good package or promo imo.

I got an email a few days ago that they are doubling up permanently.
