Clearing throat

Jeez! I lost count of how many times you hear people doing that when we out and about. It is gross and a yoghurt has more culture then people who do that.

Chances are the guy is oblivious to the discomfort he is causing.
I would pull him aside and under the guise of concern ask him if he is ok, and then suggest he go and see an ear nose and throat specialist. At the same time I would mention that its a little disgusting and that it causes discomfort. The guy obviously has a problem.

The new guy who sits next to me burps loudly whenever he feels the need. Its grossing me out.

One other thing I hate just as much is when people sniff or snort so loud every few seconds

+1

Have a colleague that I work with, When we are at business meetings he will sit there and sniff the old bloody time every couple of seconds. You don't notice at first but by the end of the meeting you ready to hang him out the window by his entrails..

Lucky he works in a different province than me so only have to put up with it once in a while otherwise would seriously go mad!!

Its cultural: Certain cultures hawk it in because they don't want to infect other people. To them its good manners. Blowing it out is bad manners. go figure :wtf:

He probably has no idea that he's doing it. Many smokers cough up phlegm, and people with sinus problems have post-nasal drip. Of course neither condition make it any less disgusting, but especially in the latter case, there's little they can do about it.
To be honest, I've lived with worse and I can't help feeling that way to much is being made of this. There are many things I find gross, including the lugie matter, but if we feel free to complain about every little thing we leave people no room to live.
I get grossed by:
- people picking at pimples
- coughing up lugies
- sniffling
- constantly licking their lips
- sticking out their tongue when exerting themselves or concentrating
- not blowing their noses
- leaving stuff in facial hair
- leaving a puss filled pimple for days on end so I have to look at it
- not doing something about blackheads
- not using deodorant
- not washing their hair

The list goes on. Every single one of us has had one of the above at some time or another. Should we have been mortified by a colleague at work? Or should we work on our tolerance a bit more?

A final question : Any one of you had to look after old people? Your grandparents, mothers or fathers. Getting old is no fun, and a lot of it comes with disgusting.

Like Bart says: "You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't.

Yes, that's exactly my point. We all do something/have some condition that someone finds gross. (Although one can clearup blackheads/pimples at home... no need to do that at your desk).

If you open the door on this, don't be surprised to learn people are sick of your halitosis etc.

Have a lady sitting at the desk next to mine doing this now

I guess this is not the right time to pop in a link to that youtube video of the massive backzit...

Our reception lady can dig up a snork from Satans lair!
Sounds like it's coming up though her toes and up her body to her mouth..................yuck.

nrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

I had a boss once upon a time that did that always around lunchtime.

I would give him dirty looks & answer his questions in such a manner that he knew I was annoyed.

Eeeeeeeeventually one day he asked why I was always in a bad mood in the middle of the day.

My answer: I know it's lunch time around then but I really don't appreciate him producing his own lunch & re-chewing like a cow.

That was it - the end. He apologised & went to the bathroom often around that time.....
