My brain feels fuzzy and disassociated.

I cannot concentrate, and get immediately confounded by multitasking anything.

This extremely uncomfortable state has always been linked with the severity of my depression, which seems to be going through a ****ty patch.

Any ideas how I can blow out the cobwebs?

I suppose exercise is an obvious start...

If you are the type that can be alone go somewhere where you can sit quietly for a few hours looking at the clouds, trees, birds, ants and just chill.

Had this 2 weeks ago, just found that alot of sleep helped, and being in a quiet environment with no TV's / Radio was very helpful aswell, however I think that my symptoms came because I stopped taking my meds for a week

It's impossible....
I sing to try and clear my mind (and the room :p) but then I tend to concentrate on the words of the song instead of other things.
It only helps for as many songs as you know the words of though and only for short periods of time. Like before an exam or an interview.
But either way you need to keep a leash on yourself. If you need to multitask, try not to. Keep a list and start with the easiest things first and tick them off as you go along. Take regular breaks or change your location. Sometimes certain things distract you that you don't even realise - I noticed its my bookshelf so I should stay away from it. You need to have conversations with yourself as well :erm: be stern but not negative. Know how to recognise when you start spinning and then stop and continue slowly. Set realistic goals - maybe some rewards. And maybe take some vitamins. And check what you are eating. If I cut out sugar and exercise regularly I have a lot more energy and am a lot more alert. I think.

copa I am also going through a rough patch, I think it may be related to the change of the season. You may want to try upping your anti-depressant dosage for a few days and see if that sorts it out. Alternatively, take a long weekend and do nothing but sleep, for me this seems to "reset" my state.

Exercise, just broke up with the lady friend and only thing keeping me sane right now is gyming the *** out of myself. Distracts you for however long you're there, the endorphin hit after is magic, and the tiredness makes you sleep like a baby...

Get off work early on a Friday, chilled soundtrack and just drive till Monday
Or
Grab enough water, chilled soundtrack and hit one if the hiking/MTB trails

Copa that drug you are on is absolute freakin rubbish, i am not sorry if that offends you but honestly copa, you are one of the most intelligent forum users when it comes to drug stuff. You pwned riax who is a pharmacist. So make no mistake i know i am about to do something i perhaps should not do but you are not the same copa i remember. You are very different, you seem very moody, depressed and in general you are not that copa i first remember. The one posting 50 times a day :p and let me explain why i think you are where you are.

Tell me http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anhedonia is that how you are feeling bro?

I am going to use an illegal substance to show what your current drug does and how the drug you are on is keeping you in your state.

E pop it bam serotonin released all chemicals flow and you are on top of the world. Then it's over and you are depressed while your body recharges for the next electric work shop jol :D. You know your body is able to recharge because you are not taking something to block the recharge :D I know my terminology may agitate you but it is just an easy way for me to remember without googling.

Now E has a similarity to the drug you use except it isn't taken everyday so it doesn't inhibit the recharge. The drug you are on is inhibiting the uptake of serotonin while releasing it or attempting to and right now i would say it's failing because your levels are so low there is no happy juice and your dopamine levels are screwed, so yes initially boy wow what a drug but slowly your serotonin is depleted along with your dopamine and the drug isn't allowing the drug to work the same way it did initially because it's blocking the very function that initially seemed to make the drug seem like a wonder drug. All it did was release extra happy juice but it never allowed your body to fill it up again.

So if my understanding is correct and often it isn't i am sure you know that :D and by all means correct me if i am wrong(awaits correction), initially it will work but eventually it will stop working and it will actually make you worse. I mean you know how important dopamine is copa, you are depleting your dopamine and copa you have to research this boet please. So you have low dopamine and low to severely low serotonin levels right now.

Thus you have no energy, you have no drive, you have no joy, you have no reward system and you are more than likely feeling sluggish and perhaps even extremely tired. As far as i know the drug isn't stimulating either for obvious reasons.

So exercise won't help because you are taking something that is blocking what exercise increases.

Now a drug like welbutrin increases dopamine levels and doesn't mess with your happy juice. Anyways i know right now you don't want to hear the drug you believe is the answer to your problems could be the cause of your problems so i will leave it at that and hope you enlighten me as to where i am going wrong or you realize your problem is popping that drug.

Anyways dude you really should look into anti depressants that increase dopamine and do not block the uptake of happy juice :D.

Here i found this for you to read and it basically says the same thing, the site i know looks dodgy but the study is spot on, how can the drug you are on work long term when it blocks the the very thing it is made to release  so like i said intially ya wow wonder drug you feel so good, a few months later you are depressed.

Change your diet?

Are you still on your no wheat thing or whatever?

I was struggling with the same kind of thing earlier this year. I cut out refined everything, lost 15 kg in the last 3 months, suddenly I feel like my mind is clear. I'm motivated again, im back in the gym (well thats only been a week, but I hope it lasts) and I'm cycling again. Things aint perfect with me, but I'm happy again. I went through some really dark days earlier this year.
