Yes, they are false most of the times, but it is normal procedure to evacuate the premises and get the SAPS dog unit and explosives unit called in to search the area.

Yip. If you are going to blow up a mall, you dont warn said mall about it before hand. You just do it.

But you cant ignore the threats, because the 1 time that you do and it is for real you are screwed.

Whilst stationed at <redacted> toll plaza in the late 1999's, we received a bomb threat.

All staff had to evacuate the building, traffic had to be rerouted past the plaza itself, and the K9 unit was called in.

Nothing was found. Wonder if they managed to trace the call and nab the irresponsible person.
