Hi all,

I recently changed from Copper Tel Lines after Telkom Sales convinced me to take one of their business LTE packages (big mistake THAT was).

I wont even go into the daily drama I had getting everything sorted wrt line cancellations, incorrect porting and double billing that went on for 4-5 months afterwards.

On to my problem :

Because my shop is rather big, I opted for the Router option rather than a handset device, with the plan to put a cordless phone on for mobility.

I received a brand new Huawei B535 Router and got a Motorola Cordless phone from Game.

Setup was straight forward, everything (now finally) works as expected, EXCEPT for one problem that is driving my OCD crazy.

On incoming calls, the CLI adds 002 to each number.

This makes it impossible to make out the number that dialed you, or even to return the call. So basically my CLI is useless!

I tried different makes on models of phones, and all the same, so it HAS to be a router setting. When I plugged my new phone into a friends landline, the numbers display correctly.

I went through each and every setting in the router, and the only suspect I can find is this:

I asked telkom support, but as usual, their legendary uselessness did not disappoint:

I need to mention that even though the IMS is Unregistered, I am able to make and receive calls.

Anyone have any ideas? Even the Motorola SA rep said this is the first time he heard of it.

Wessie

Why does the 0027 make the CLI useless?

Do all the the digits appear on the device or is that the issue?

yes, the 0027 country code "pushes" the last few digits off the screen.
Also, then you try and call back the number displayed it does not work.
It also means that all the numbers in your phonebook need the country digits added to display names of known INCOMING numbers, but then outgoing dialling does not work.

many small but significant irritations.

Basically I just need to somehow find a setting that turns off the country codes.

It is a typical network quality issue.
CLIP issues should be reported to the network team, as they need to fix it on the network side.
Nothing you can do on your side, unless the phone have options to rewrite the 0027 to +27.
