The company is based in Sydney, Australia, and are expanding their follow the sun support model. We are looking for a Support Superstar who is strong in Linux and Networking to join our South African Team. Be a part of this growth, innovation and entrepreneurial Spirit!
Working as an integral part of our Support team, you will be responsible for utilising your strong systems administration and engineering skills to provide world class, proactive service and solutions to our customers.
We are looking for someone has has worked in a support team before, and can work on their own or as a team member successfully.
Daily tasks involve the following;
• System administration of the Company’s and Customers’ hosting and monitoring infrastructure.
• Advanced application stack troubleshooting and escalation (apache, nginx, varnish, tomcat, mysql, php, etc)
• Maintaining Tasks in Bulletproof’s Request Tracking System to the satisfaction of the Support Manager and COO of the Company
• Assistance in the Development of support systems and processes for the Company’s technical operation
Position Requirements
• Linux systems (Ubuntu and/or RHEL based)
• Advanced Networking Configuration on loader balancers, firewalls, switches, vpn concentrators, wafs (F5, Cisco,Checkpoint)
• Version Control Systems (CVS/SVN/GIT)
• Customer and Developer/Partner Support
• Virtual And Physical System Administration (VMWare IBM/Dell/Cisco)
• Exposure to Backup systems (Commvault, Netbackup etc)
Desirable skills
• Knowledge of a public cloud service (AWS,Azure,Rackspace Cloud)
• Exposure to Windows systems
• Application Support (e.g. Sitecore, AEM, Magento)
• OS and Kernel fundamentals
• Advanced troubleshooting (strace, sysdig, tcpdump)
Salary
• R400 000 - R600 000 per year depending on experience
