I asked what you would recommended in the place of CF for redundancy but you don't seem to comprehend why people would resort to CF in the first place. Facepalm.

Again, what I would recommend is to have the ability to turn off proxying, and still have a functioning public site.

Yes, if you need DDoS protection, then this is not a permanent solution -- but unless you were under attack this very afternoon, it would have worked.

For long-term redundancy you'd need to have alternative providers ready to go. Resiliency is a matter of being able to do without CF. They know this, which is why they have relentlessly bolted new features on to their basic DDoS mitigation product over the years, hoping to trap people in their ecosystem. It's clearly working.
 
From someone who builds both software and relies on duct-tape services because of market constraints I feel like there is a no-win scenario here. These companies gave us what we needed and also made us entrapped nonetheless.😞

Still problematic, can't get anything done today, now I have been kicked out of Remote Desktop Manager and can't sign back in.
