Cobra Kai

Not really, I loved the fact that they kept the cheesy 80s fighting style and a lot of the series is self aware, but brilliant in that regard. Something like Iron Fist is where you can legitimately expect good combat but it is a massive let down.

Thoroughly enjoyed the show. Can't wait for the 2nd season.
I thought that I would hate this show, I ended up binging both seasons.

Really enjoyed the new season. Still the best reboot in a while. Elisabeth Shue still looks great too.
I didn't notice the new season, because I'm watching Amazon Prime currently. The man in the high castle is not biting me yet (15 minutes, ep 1), so I'll stop and first watch Cobra Kai.

I would say watch the cast visiting Afterparty on Netflix but it is so embarrassing bad i.e. two of the presenters are idiots. Besides David Spade.

Season 3 was rather kak:

1) Oh look 'bruce lee broken back' recovery for about all of the arc.
2) none of the students from Miyagi do (and the sensei himself) truly follows its teachings. They literally go and look for kak when they are suppose not to fight, but defend yourself/at least end the fight even before it started (smartly).
3) LaRusso not being taught everything. This was for me was retconning of the original karate kid where he was complete to do what he had to do and now magically there is another branch of teachings.
4) ffs Daniel LaRusso. Jesus christ dude. When are you going to stop going back to mr Miyagi when life gets tough or he doesn't know wtf to do? (pretty much the same for Lawrence)
5) Just too much ****ing teen drama. Too much.
6) Did we really need a back story for John Kreese? Couldn't we just go on without adding more pap where it isn't needed?

One of the things I did like was Johnny Lawrence and LaRusso becoming one as if they were one person with two parts being at war. Rest was just kak. Sadly.

Wasn't the best season to be fair, Season 1 was still the best, 2 was alright and 3 was a drop below that. Still better than a lot of other stuff available. But it's dropping consistently I'm not sure what 4 will be like.

You know what Kreese would say...

I completely missed this series and when I saw the Netflix add the other day I had to watch it.

Other than the nostalgia I didn't love it (its a bit cringe) and got half way through season 1, is it worth watching till the end?

No sensei, you're missing the point.
Show is aimed squarely at the young teen market and they love it.
Way too much over-analysis - need to step away from Tenet and enjoy this for what it is.
Must be dazed and confused (and lost) wet tweens

I guess none of the cast/lore master(s) did real world martial arts consisting of multiple senseis and styles
I'll raise them black tiger any day. Then we will see who the real pussies are :coffee:

I loved season 3. Really cool nostalgia trip with a lot of great laughs. So many nods to the origonal 3 movies. You really should watch all 3 before doing the series.
Same here... Not sure what the okes are smoking, who said they didn't like it. Daniels meeting with Chozen was brilliant
