Hello,

Anyone know where one can buy the above mentioned product ?

Go to any indian fruit and veg store. Buy half a dozen coconuts - tap them with your knuckles and shakes them a bit to see if they have water. Use a corkscrew on the brown circles under the coconut to drain the water.

If u want coconut water from a coconut you're gonna have to buy baby Thai coconuts. They sell them at fruit and veg city. About 20 rand each. It's usually the white husk wrapped in cling wrap. You might also find it with the green skin on. Don't buy the brown coconuts, it's not what you're looking for.
They do sell coconut water in cans and bottles for around 10-15 rand like shaun said. Cans at Spar and I've seen bottles at a checkers but haven't tried it.
The fresh coconut is delicious, much better than the canned products and healthier too.

Thanks guys! I appreciate all the help. I am going to go to checkers fruit and veg etc today

I know this does not help you , but i got some at glenwood durban spar the other day .
Was R17 for a 300ml bottle .

It was a freaking hot day and it went down well , never had it before .

I think Die Boord pharmacy in Stellenbosch might have.
baby Thai coconuts.
The soft flesh is also great added to smoothies. It's so unlike the regular old brown coconuts with their hard flesh.

Try to buy coconut water in a plastic bottle or glass. The coconut water in tin cans take on a metal taste.

So is it coconut milk with the white stuff remove.

No, it's a different type of coconut. Baby Thai coconuts are filled to the top with a sweet water that's full of electrolytes and is delicious!

I'm pretty sure coconuts are coconuts :). The baby thai coconuts are coconuts in a young stage, the old round brown things are the same coconut that's matured and dried out.

Coconut water is the clear liquid that's in the coconut when you open it. Cans of coconut cream or coconut milk are the pressed flesh of coconuts.
