Why is it that only CoCT has a R6k registration fee? Why is it that JHB does not have to pay the network charge on pre-paid? Nobody is able to go solar in the Cape, its failing because of CoCT!

Also, it was CoCT that introduced all the solar tariffs to punish solar investments further. Times have drastically changed and people are suffering and yet CoCT is forcing the failed socialist system on to the people of the Cape.

CoCT has screwed up the solar uptake for the people of the Cape with their failed unfair socialist rate payer punishing solar policy. Fvck CoCT, enforcing socialist failure. "Together we do you pay more. The shitty that works for you us."

CoCT doesn’t have any registration fee, it is free
Hahah I don`t believe people fall for their word salad, you have to pay them R6k and call it whatever. It was called a registration fee and when people complained they renamed it (ala ANC style) to an admin fee or whatever they call it now. Same happened to the water levy which was 1st called the rain tank levy.

If you receive your bills from CoCT (City of Cape Town) you will need to register your system, our installer can do this for you at an additional fee.
Only NRS Approved inverters (our Hybrid inverters are NRS Approved, view the complete list.
Add Registration Fee (+R5,750.00)

Registration also makes sure that all those who are using electricity from the grid pay for their usage accordingly. Running your meter backwards or avoiding paying your share of the grid upkeep is illegal and puts greater strain on the rest of the city.

I've read all those links you've posted before and I'm yet to find any reference to a "registration fee" or similar payable to the COCT.

I think what confuses most people, is that a SSEG system must be "signed off" by a "registered electrical engineering professional" which is pretty costly.

CoCT does not charge a fee for registration. The installers charge a fee for doing the admin and getting it registered for you. You can do it yourself for no fee

I can`t believe people fall for CoCt`s word salad. Fact: CoCT is the only municipality that forces a registration fee for solar systems. CoCT is forcing this and not the installers.

CoCT clearly states this to be a solar system registration fee and is compulsory. Why only CoCT? And why does CoCT not remove the connection levy on prepaid like all other municipalities?

"All solar PV systems installed within the City's electricity supply area must be authorised by us." Did you miss this line? And you have to pay R6k for this registration.

You know you could just move to any other place right? Seeing as you have such hatred of the CoCT. Yet you actually have no idea of what is happening in other muncipalities.

You seem very angry today, jeez.
Just point us to the exact document / link where that fee is indicated and no one would be questioning you.

Yes I am angry why should I not be? I already quoted the words within these links which it seems you chose to ignore.
