"There is no charge to register EG systems. A fee will only be applied if you fail to register your system. Grid engineering studies will be done by the City for the proposed PV installation should these be required."

Yes I am angry why should I not be? I already quoted the words within these links which it seems you chose to ignore.

That fee has nothing to do with the CoCT, maybe read properly. If someone is to lazy to do a bit of paperwork, they are welcome to pay their installer extra to do it for them.

Word salad. "Insert the CoCT word here" for the R5700 fee that is not applicable to any other municipalities.

I am here to get info also, do I need to pay a fee when going solar or not? Why are installers enforcing the fee for CoCT only?

So where does the CoCT say they charge a fee?

Legislation is coming nationally (eventually), CoCT is just implementing registration first.

I don`t see them talking about an exact fee, they only state there will be extra charges to ensure a safe system. Then I see solaradvice requiring the R5700 registration fee for CoCT only.

Had the same issue. Yet I am a direct client to Eskom but had to pay COCT upon installation.

Maybe you should reread your own thread as clearly comprehension isn't your strong suit
It is clearly not your strong suit, this is not only confusing to me. Maybe you can explain the required fee on solaradvice's site? No I didn`t think so, thanks for nothing, go read again.

It's not that complicated. Solar Advice charge a fee to do the admin on your behalf. You can do it yourself too, in which case there is no fee.
