Coffee = Stomach aches?

I experience the exact same thing ... if I drink coffee on an empty stomach. And my stomach blows up like a balloon, pffffffffft.

Only happens to me sometimes..

I googled this in the morning and found quite a few threads/articles/questions about why drinking coffee causes stomach ache. Obviously it doesn't happen to everyone but personally, every single time I drink coffee my stomach starts to pain.

Now, question is, how exactly should I make the coffee so that my stomach doesn't hurt after drinking it? I'm restricted to drinking tea because of this.

Does this happen to any of you?

Any more info you guys would like to share is welcome..

Could be a light form of IBS or something similar.

Check out the whole "eat right for your type" thing. I've heard many people swear by it and it would be interesting to see if coffee is a no no for you according to this. http://www.dadamo.com/

EDIT: Oh yes, apparently this is a guide.

Careful with the eat right for your type. it is a guide as you say its not a set in stone yes you can eat that or no you cannot eat something else, because yes your blood type is very specific but not everyone that is O blood type should eat as much meat as is precribed...

My 2c.

And yeah feo what about when you goto a coffee house? same problem? it could also be the quality of beans used in the coffee that causes your stomach to blow up or be sore!

Your arabica beans aren't as acidic as the robusta beans.

What happens if you drink cappucino's? do you also get a sore stomach?

thats exactly why i said its a guide its not set in stone. I actually believe we should start listening to our bodies again, like when you don't feel good after coffee then obviously coffee isn't good for you. Same with anything else, if you crave something then your body is either trying to comfort itself or needs certain nutrients.

+10 and besides that i'm an A blood type and they want me to eat as little as posible red meat....... man and i love steak!:D

I dont get stomach aches if I drink coffe but it does make me feel ill. Just the smell of coffe in the morning is enough to make me want to throw up. I just don't drink coffee, probably have about four expressos a year.

I like the bit where they tell you what your personality is based on your blood type. It's like astrology - from within dude.

Don't really go to coffee houses, only time I ever drink coffee is at home (once in a while) and MAYBE at work if I'm really feeling for it so can't really judge whether it's because of the quality of the beans or something else.

What I do notice is that when I drank the vanilla flavoured coffee a couple of times, the effect on my stomach wasn't as bad as regular coffee.

I got an ache after drinking some coffee earlier today with a lot of milk, but I love coffee so had it without milk.. feel much better now.. I think I'm lactose intolerant.

I've never had coffee without milk before, isn't it bitter?

At first maybe, but you should just get the amount right, dilute with more water if it's overpowering, I like mine a little sweet.

Oneday when you go out you should try a cappucino and see what its like afterward cause normal coffee's have a tendency of having the lower grade beans in...
