Collecting e-toll fees 'impossible'

And to add to that, the 9 million contract subscribers have all filled out debit order authorisations which makes it possible for them (moblie phone providers) to collect their revenue without having to rely on snail mail. So even if my dog ate my invoice, I still pay for my mobile usage every month.

SANRAL can send out invoices till they are blue in the face and my dog will just eat them all.

+1

The difference here is that Vodacom/MTN will bill you whether you look at your invoice or not. SANRAL can't do that.

Luckily my car is still registered to a name of a dead person whom I bought it from...FU Sanral!

Why must you always reduce yourself to ad hominems, it is weak dude.
I suppose you have nothing to say for the obvious fact that any judge will point out that the system doesn't need to cope with that many manual transactions given the discounts. It is illogical to suggest people will overlook a ~50% discount just for the heck of it.

i wouldn't say you're stupid. you are. but i wouldn't say it.

*shakes head* So you're part of the problem?

what problem? I don't see how I am any different from government, government taxes people, this is also theft. So it makes no difference to pay the cop or the tax.

There is of course a slight difference between the eToll bill and the MTN/VDC bill, other than the ones already mentioned. I'm pretty damn sure that MTN doesn't need to provide me with photographic evidence of me using their system/s for each line item on the bill. Sanral will, however, have to.

You're no better than any of the corrupt politicians.

Ag, hopefully all these future defunct gantries will amount to in the end will be a monument to our current failure of a government. How apt would that be?

"Dad, what are those things?"

"Oh, those useless old things are just a reminder of when the ANC tried to run this country."

"I've heard mommy say bad words about the ay and cee!"

"Thaaaat's the one, pumpkin."

:D

Sigh...a guy can dream, can't he?

My shredder waits in anticipation for their bills...

so you don't see taxation as theft?.. Corrupt politicians steal other peoples money, the 'car registration law' obligates me to give money to government (this is also theft). Just because something is a law doesn't make it right. Either way I'll go with the cheaper option by bribing cops rather than sign up to be stolen from.

If you're for forcing people to pay to obtain a car licence then you aren't really better then Sanral who wants to force you to pay to use their roads..

You may have a point, but endorsing corruption for your own personal needs is not considered ethical.

pfft, why decides what is ethic and what is not? It sure as hell isn't the law, I can show you many laws that are unethical. My principle is that theft is wrong, is the law steals from you then it is theft, that is unethical.

As I said, you have a point - but is not considered [by others as] ethical.

By giving less money to the government, the corruption (which those people don't consider unethical like you) will just find other ways to get the money - such as rasing fuel levies, tolling roads, using EC schools budget etc.

Not only that, you set the standard that cops expected to be brided - which is never a good mind set for our law enforcement...
