As the title says, looking for a colour printer to replace my aging HP-F380.

I print very little, roughly 50-60 pages a month and mostly excel spreadsheets and occasional pdf, odd photograph here and there hence the need for colour...

Require something that is relatively compact and simple to use.

Suggestions please??

TIA

R1500? You looking for laser?

I would say any budget printer would do as your more likely going to replace the ink from age than actually using it up. Personally I've learnt my lesson not to buy an expensive printer and also not colour. Got my wife a cheap laser printer and she is happy with it because if we need a colour print then we would rather pay somebody else to do it for us - a set of colour cartridges cost R90 for budget ones for my Cannon IP-5200 printer (none of the colours are correct) to R500 for the originals and considering that they only last 6mths before they dry up, thats a lot of cash just to print pretty.

I picked up a Samsung CLP-315 for that price over a year ago and have not had to replace the toners yet.

We don't do too much printing, but it is used a few times a week. Quality is perfect for documents and university assignments. Not photo quality though.

I am very happy with it.

Hi Sandman, I see you are in joburg. I have an aging HP k550dt printer sealed in box that I'll give to you.. I'm not sure if its working, haven't checked, but its taking up space in flat. So if you want it, its yours.

R1500 is a bit much - we're also still rocking an F380 - actually amazingly good for R400 considering it scans and copies too.

Probably OK for light use. I had the slightly smaller CLP-300 which produced good output until about a week after it was out of warranty. I used it quite heavily until it eventually caught fire. Quite impressive, but the last Samsung printer I ever buy.

there is a Samsung colour laser printer going for about R1300 at game.
Nice thing about toners is they last forever, you will not need to replace them from lack of use.
