Ok, i see that you are new so you wont know what has been discussed. Hit the search key or go back a few pages, this has been discussed.

But i will add something to your post anyway for the sake of a good debate.

Many have hated on Ibra for not performing in the big games and the Champions League. When he joined Barca, i said he will prove his doubters wrong.

In the Real Madrid match he scored the winner, so then already i said thats one down that he cant perform in the big matches. Then came the CL, he scored crucial goals throughout the tourney.

The best was when he scored 2 against Arsenal at the Emirates, then there was nothing but praise for him. Everybody was QUIET!!!! Against Inter he didnt perform and now everybody is saying he is a flop again.

He is a player people love to hate. So sure you can hate on him as much as you want, but what did you expect from him? Do you expect him to score 30 goals in his first season at a new club? For me 21 goals and 11 assists is a great return. Hell scoring the winner against Real Madrid is enough for me.

If scoring the only goal for Barca against Stuttgart that kept us in the tie and scoring 2 goals against Arsenal is not performing in Europe, then i dont know.

My problem with Ibra stems from the fact that he did nothing in the Champions league over the last few years! His 2 goals against arsenal were good, granted, but the chances he missed were shocking! my gran would of scored those. it was his inability to score more against arsenal that let arsenal believe that they could of won the second leg. that tie should of been over before the second leg started! granted the defence should take blame for leaking 2 goals at the end but in no way what so ever did arsenal deserve a draw and i blame ibra for that! he could of and should of had a hatrick!

Against Inter he was worse than berbatov! he gave a new meaning to lazy!

Geeeez you are harsh dude. You are blaming Ibra because he should have scored more than two goals? LoL

You blame Ibra because Arsenal drew?

Doesnt make sense.

I understand your comments about Ibra's history but he did well to prove some of the haters wrong, even if it was just for a little bit. At the end of the day i believe a player needs to have two seasons at a club to adjust to the way things work, then you can judge him. People were saying all bad things about Henry during his first seaosn at Barca. They were insulting him, calling him a has been and saying that Arsenal got the best part of the deal because Henry is hopeless.

In Henry's second season he was one of La Liga's star players and destroyed teams with his goals. Interesting to note, Ibra has performed better than what Henry did in his first season.

Why would Ibra leave? Villa is brought in to replace Henry. So he will be used on the left. I hate it when people comment on things but they not clued up on positions and why players are bought.

Do you consider the Barcelona vs Real Madrid game big? Hows about the Arsenal vs Barcelona game?

:D

Thats no excuse. Pedro has always played wide and never plays through the middle. He switches flanks often.

What about Messi flopping when it mattered? Xavi flopping? Pedro flopping? But in your small mind everything is Ibra's fault. He is the reason why we lost, only him.

bah, hater!

No you keep bringing up how Ibra has saved and made Barca better whilst you forget to mention had it not been for Messi Barca would not have been where they are this season :)

Ibra hasn't improved anything in that team,

exactly the same as Inter, Eto hasn't made inter better it's just made them play without depending on Ibra

I don't entirely blame for the draw but i feel he was a major contributor! come on atleast admit that he missed sitters that night. I agree a player needs 2 seasons to adapt to the new league, surrounding, team , tactics etc. i PERSONALLY FEEL IBRA WILL LEAVE BARCA WITH HIS REPUTATION SMASHED TO BITS! If he is there next season , and i have my doubts, i think it's his make or break moment on how his career will be remembered.

Look, many people think including Pep that Ibra has made the team better. He has added something different to the way Barca plays. Gab Marcotti has also stated in the week that with Ibra, Barca are better compared to last year.

They have another dimension of attack, Messi has gotten better, Bojan is absolutely fantastic this season, Pedro is sublime and one has to mention that the defence is better than last season.

So as a whole Barca is better. I never meant to say that Ibra is the main reason why Barca is better just that when they move foward there is an improvement with him there.

Odd. I remember you saying that Ronaldo is nothing in la Liga. How many seasons has he had?

Messi and Xavi missed sitters as well.

Ibra missed a sitter that an old man in a wheelchair could have probably scored.

At the end of the day, if Ibra leaves then so be it. I just find myself defending him because i dont think he deserves to be called a flop. I can see why people hate on him tho, its easy. See the problem with Ibra is simple.

He must adapt to play at Barca. Barca will never adapt to his style. All the teams he has played at adapted to his style and made him the focus of the team. If he cannot adapt next season, then Barca should sell him.

Or if Pep makes a decision this transfer window that he wont adapt then they should sell him now.

Henry cost 16m, what did Ibra cost again?

I dont think anyone actually believes Ibra is a bad player, he just isnt living up to his price tag (yet?)

I just think he's overrated and not a flop! definitions of a flop are: Veron or Shevchenko( when they went to England.) He's been far from a flop. but he has not lived up to his reputation or price tag

Fair comments.

My hope is he will shine next season. If not, then its bye bye.

I don't understand why they went out and spent THAT much on him to be honest. He is one of the best in the world, for sure - but how much was it? 60 odd million + Eto'o?

With Barca as successful as they are, and with the core of the team already there, would Barca have done much worse had they kept Eto'o or sold him, and played Bojan or another 'less expensive' striker instead? They are La Liga champions again - they were again one of the best teams in Europe, and are still up there as one of the best in the world, who will play anyone off the park. I don't see how Ibra has made Barca a better team.

Usually, when you go out and spend sums like that, it's to make your squad better. How much stronger are Barca with Ibra? Is it 60 odd million pound worth?

But it is the fee that Barcelona paid for Zlatan Ibrahimovic last July that Gazidis and the Arsenal board should pay particular attention to. While the enigmatic Swede is widely regarded as over-rated on these shores, the European champions gave Inter Milan £39m as well as Samuel Eto’o in a deal worth an astonishing £56m.

Barca never brought Zlatan over to score more goals, it was simply to add another dimension to the attack. That is all. Keeping Eto was proving to be dangerous for the team. His attitude and constant fall outs with Pep is what made him want to sell.

If we never brought in a striker, we would not have that dimension of attack that Pep was craving for. It was simple, Pep thought Barca's attack needed something extra, it needed a centre foward with height that could get on the end of the crosses. Look at the height of the Barca team.

Xavi - short
Messi - short
Bojan - short
Alves - short
Iniesta - short
Puyol - short
Pedro - short

The only attacking tall player is Henry, but he is pretty awful with his head. So anyway, the plan was for Zlatan to add that extra dimension. That is the reason why Pep bought him. Pep noticed that teams have figured out how to play Barca. United defended 10 men behind the ball and beat us, Chelsea almost did it, Inter Milan did it this season.

That is the idea Pep had with Zlatan but of course as well all know it didnt work out when we needed it the most, however it did work throughout the campaign.

Arsenal Refuse To Drop £40 Million Price For Barcelona Target Cesc Fabregas - Report

Arsenal have refused to lower their £40 million valuation of want-away midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to reports.

The Daily Express has reported the Gunners will demand Barcelona meet their demands before they will contemplate any transfer for the club captain.

However, the La Liga champions are expected to open the bidding at £30 million. They are reluctant to pay more due to the fact the north London outfit signed Fabregas from them for a meagre fee when he was just 16.

Fabregas has informed Arsene Wenger of his desire to return to the Nou Camp, and is hopeful his price tag will not scupper the move.

I think 30 million is fair and we can take it from there. Maybe 35 million and Yaya.

30 million + Yaya is worth more than what we paid for Villa.

Not saying the club will cap out at 30 but they will start at offering 30 million and work it from there.

Cesc is a Cantera, he wants to come home and even he knows Barca wont break the bank for him. He knows if Arsenal wants too much Barca wont go for it and he will have to play another season at Arsenal. Something he clearly doesnt want to do.

I think that 40m+ is more than fair. If Barca want him that badly, they shouldn't be stubborn about him being from their academy.
