It probably means Vodacon is trying their best to offer something that will 'compete' with MTN's data bundle rollover.
Well, MTN has sliced the price of 1GB packages by R100 per month, if you buy 2GB to last 60 days.
HOWEVER, and this is going STRAIGHT TO YOU V3G:
Most people don't think about this - so the offer is there, that they are R100 cheaper than Vodacom, but they can't advertise it like that!! Very poor planning there.
So, if Vodacom were to slice prices on their bundles a bit (it doesn't even *have* to be R100 less for a 1GB) then Vodacom can Advertise that they ARE infact cheaper than MTN, and look like a much better choice.
If you don't understand look at it like this:
If a person wanted about 1GB per month, the prices could look like this:
MTN 1GB : R289.00 (MTN's current price)
Vodacom 1GB: R220 (Lets say that is their *New* Price)
Now, on paper it looks like Vodacom is the one to go for if you wanna use the Internet....
but If you used MTN and bought 2GB for R389.00 to use over 60 days, and use 1GB per month, it works out at R195 per 1GB. MTN is cheaper.
BUT, even if Vodacom is more expensive than MTN, if you need 1GB per month, the prices still look like this:
MTN 1GB : R289.00
Vodacom 1GB: R220
BAM!
When a person sees that, he won't even bother looking into MTN.
Anyone understand my theory there?
