Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo has vowed to ensure government-subsidised set-top boxes (STBs) used to receive the digital TV signal will be encrypted.

Easy to say when the encryption has already been added to the boxes.... At least from 1 source, possibly others.

It is a proof that they don't want transition to DTV at all. And I understand why. How many shacks have proper installation of TV antenna? With analog TV you can still receive signal, while digital receiver gives either a clear picture or nothing.

So the previous minister went all the way to the concourt to ensure they DON'T have to encrypt, which case they just won, and now the new minister says they WILL have encryption. WTF is going on?

Nope, they were taken to court and had to prove that process was conducted properly, so they did.

Now minister received a bribe and will approve encryption or they just decided to start over again to delay things they don't want, see my first post.
