I'm not disagreeing with you at all and that's exactly why we have all these options available. So you can make the right choice for your environment. You can choose between Contract, Topup and Prepaid all with different capabilities.
If I had a choice I would've built one single system, but we don't have that today (coming at some point), so we did the best with the technology available and gave you more choices than most other operators.
I often wonder about this actually. We give users a number of choices and that seems to actually get us into trouble. I never see other operators being attacked for not having these options.
Maybe we should just be the same; build one product with no options and the choice is then easy; 'take it or leave it'. Or we should just not bother to try and discuss them in online forums.
Of course then we might have the few hundred thousand customers they've got instead on the millions.
