Must Say I'm with www.inX.co.za they are making use of IS back Bone and although IS have some issues I can always get the best services from them. Sorting out my problems with in a few minutes, and if there is and IS problem they will keep aggressively battle with IS till the problem is sorted out.

Thanks inX for a great services.

PS inX became the official Internet Sponsors for the Formula 1 Powerboat Association Have a look http://www.f1boat.co.za/

I have been with Axxess since May. I have stuck with them through the WA R199 for 30GB deal and even though they have not had the greatest support of late but enough is enough. Problems that I currently have:

1) On their 4GB package they treat 4GB as 4000000000 bytes even though they get charged for 1024 Meg.
2) I have been trying to get hold of support since yesterday 7:30pm. I got hold of someone at 7pm who said I should email abuse and when I tried to get hold of them again - nothing. I emailed abuse yesterday at 7:30pm and am still capped. They just don't answer the bl##dy phone.
3) There are ghost entries on my Axxess login history. These entries totalling 107924728 bytes do not appear on the SAIX history and could not have been from any of my 3 connections (I have proof of this). The fact that they don't appear on Saix is a concern to me. I base my usage on the SAIX ADSL analyser and thought I had plenty 300Meg but because of these ghost entries and the 4000000000 byte story I have been capped.

I would suggest that everyone with Axxess check their login history. All of the extra items (49) on my account were 10 - 40 minute connections.

Well called WebAfrica today and they answered the call after 2 rings. Well done guys. You will be getting my business. It's actually really annoying because I recently changed my email address to the axxess one. Will move to my gmail from now on.

Cheers

Dean

Well guys..i have to admit...If there is ONE ISP that i truely admire, it's Webafrica...really...those guys are a-ok...At the moment im not by them because of the rates ( have to look at budget ). I can promise them ONE thing though...If they can match SAOL, i'll go back to WebAfrica without a worry.....Keep up the good work WA ;-)

Some Feedback ...

Has been sorted out - turned out be a problem with SAIX's access list. The online top up has also been sorted out to cater for capped accounts. Clients can now access www.saol.com and still receive email from pop3.saol.com when capped.

Unfortunately it's a policy we need to stick to - if we sell @ R34.90 / gig we'll be running at a loss - we have calculated the costs very carefully and can't afford to veer from our plan.

You can simply email or fax your proof of payment or use the online top up facility - support staff can top up accounts.

Has been sorted - worked fine with IE, needed some attention to work with Firefox.

At R34.90 / Gig we are selling below cost - our large client base enables us to sell at this price as not all users use their entire quota through the month - we can provide you an "absolute" account with carry over @ R69/ Gig.

Another thing that has been sorted our recently is the problem with the SAIX stats analyser.

Thank you for all your feedback - we will work on our problems and try accomodate our clients wherever possible.

Yep i agree...Come on guys....If i can get an account at R349-99/10gig, and i only use 5 gig...****....give the leftover 5 gigs to someone else!!...i'm already scoring if you look at how much the other guys pay for only 5 gig...lol..What im trying to say is....ppl....this way EVERYONE scores ;-)

OK here we go again... :(

Once again i'm desperately in need of topping up to stay online just a little longer till New Year... So off i ventured to the "Fixed" SAOL banking page, and punch in my card details... CARD DECLINED So Credit Cards only??? How dull, why not debit cards - comeon, we're in the same country here, nevermind the same city.

So i opted calling in to SAOL. a VERY friendly gentlemen named KEVIN answered the phone. I asked him cautiously if HE could enable another gig for me, he said NO!!!(clearly this problem is still not solved) however he can still see the 'managers' who can, online (passing the buck AGAIN) So i said to him that its urgent as i'm running out fast, and that i need it enabled as i'm working during the night online. He said it would be no problem, and wile i had him on the phone(kinky) i transfered the cash, and emailed him the deposit confirmation etc which he got within seconds. He said he would take care of it immediately....

...

...

Needless to say i got cut off at 9pm lastnight, could not finish my research that's due today... and i had to phone in today to be told by a gentlemen named VEE (Who was the last person to serve and misslead) "I've spoken to Kevin, they must not have reacted to the request to update your account"

Yes i could be more pissed off, however my calming tablets works too well...

WHY DO YOU HAVE STAFF THAT CAN NOT ENABLE IT THEMSELVES WILE THEY ARE ON DUTY. WHY DO THEY HAVE TO PASS THE BUCK? IF THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED AND THE ACCOUNT UPDATE REQUEST HAS TO BE FORWARDED TO A MANAGER, WHY HAVE THEM EMPLOYED IF THEY CAN'T GET TRUSTED. THE SUPPORT PERSON THAT ANSWERES THE PHONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DEAL WITH THE ENTIRE SITUATION, NOT FORWARD IT TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT.

Good and well, maybe Kevin did follow your company protocol, incase his department isnt responsible to update accounts etc, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE ONE SMALL CHANGE TO ANYBODY'S ACCOUNT. DO YOU HAVE SUCH A BACKLOG OF PEOPLE BEGGING FOR THAT EXTRA GIG THAT IT GETS LEFT ASIDE AND FORGOTTEN. i could get into serious trouble for not having my work completed today, however i'm fortunate a little white lie and a doctors note can keep my name good for one more day wile the extra gig lasts.

I trust this matter will be seen too and addressed, and hopefully nobody else especially me would not have to have this problem again, because there's no doubt i'd be forking out again at the end of January for an extra gig.

I eagerly await a response here.

Man. Show me an online store that accepts debit cards.

I use debit cards ALL the time - if they are not willing to accept DEBIT cards, close up.

enx - its a little pathetic if a debit card can't even buy online within south africa!. so all its good for is swiping the card at till points and draw money... stupid stupid stupid.

as for credit card - why use that when you pay more interest on it - buying another GIG is expensive allready, now we have to pay interest on it too ? bull$hit

Over seas you can pay with your debit card, if I recall i think paypal supports it, and I have seen many others.

It is a safer way to pay for goods, the only thing is the authentication, you do this by pin, but then again, some time ago I used my debit card without entering my pin I think it was at McDonalds.

It's time SA Etailers start to investigate safer and more convenient ways to pay for goods.

Sorry this is way oftopic!! So shoot me! :D

Well, its now been almost 3 full days since I started trying to sort out this mess with Axxess and no luck. I have not tried to call them again but all of my emails go unanswered. The account is still locked. I am sure they will respond after the end of the month when it is too late and the bandwidth is "lost". This is absolutely the worst service that I have ever received from a company. If they were based overseas, they would definitely shut down in a matter of weeks.

Cheers

ABE - nail their a$$e$!. - that is bull$sh+ you should demand back the amount of megs you've lost asof the day your account was locked. - you should get no less!. - otherwise paint their name BLACK here on MYADSL - that's what i would do!.

Yes - its a VISA debit card from my bank in the Isle of man - not a visa electron, so acts like a credit card, but payment comes off the bank in 2-3 working days.

Edit: Just Bought tickets on flysaa.com today /End edit

VISA is a credit card... not debit... I have a 20Twenty card, it's a master card, but I have no line of credit.

I've never seen a site that accepts debit cards.

SAOL - since yestarday I've got authentication problem, can't login into my account. Many times tried to phone them, but after long hanging on line and listening to music and recorded messages got through ... to another one - this is Vanessa, please leave your message. The same for support and for sales. Looks like good buy my unused bandwidth before the month ends.
Any explanation from Marko or Pedantic?

Visa is also a debit card, so is mastercard and maestro...

Web Africa works with debit cards.

My bad, of course just by definition if you don't have a line of credit it's a debit card... If it is a master card or visa card, you have the option of credit applicaiton and they're accepted anywhere where credit cards are accepted.

I wasn't aware that it was possible to accept Meastro and Visa-Electron online, as they require a pin for purchases.

SAOL -- I've just joined, and my first experience is abysmal service.
I had a similar experience to Linda123. Spent at least half an hour
trying to get through to SAOL. Was kept waiting by an answering machine saying: ``Hold on, you are now second in line...'' ``Hold on, you are now first in line ...''and then after listening to a recording of Queen for 10 minutes (and paying for it!), another answering machine saying ``Sorry, i'm not available right now!'' Also no reply to e-mails to the technical department.
Hello guys? I've only been with you a day and I'm wondering if you really are committed to your clients.
