Computer not installing windows 11 (says it cannot be downloaded on any drive)

I had the same issue with my hp laptop. I used an Ubuntu live USB, deleted all the partitions then shut it down.

Booted from Windows USB and drive showed there as unformatted.

The easiest way would be to use the GParted graphical tool for managing disk partitions. You will most likely have several partitions, the big one where the OS was located in addition to smaller system partitions.

The best way would be to delete all the partitions (you will need to unmount them first). Once you have a blank canvass you can create a single large ntfs partition on the disk.

There are a number of GParted videos on YouTube if you want a heads up on it before you start.

Diskpart should then also work ... Shift + F10 at install screen to open CMD ... then Diskpart

Check YT for Diskpart commands

Tried this on CMD prompt through Windows Installation media. It only lists one Disk which is 28gb.

Really frustrating.

Yes, I've been on BIOS and the option to change from Raid to ACHI is hidden. Is there a quick fix for that? Apparently this is an issue for some BIOS.

I don't mind deleting everything on the laptop as I normally work for Google docs and all my personal stuff is backed up so looking for a simple quick fix.

Reset to default Bios settings ?

Otherwise try the 2 usb drives as I mentioned before ... someone else said it worked for them ?

Then you will need to download and install (after putting them on your Windows install USB) the Windows Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers from the HP website for your laptop and use the load driver button on the screen you are stuck on.

OEM laptops, like from Dell and HP (at least) often come with already installed Windows and BIOS being on RAID mode instead of AHCI, so one either has to change the setting in BIOS or load the driver if reinstalling Windows from scratch.

Also thought it was hardware but Ubuntu loads perfectly fine.

Last resort I can take it to a shop but don't want to be ripped off for a simple fix, lol. Pakistani guys wanted R700 to load Windows and I imagine PC shops will be a similar rate.
