How does the big suppliers like rectron etc handle errors that they make?

I'm sitting with a supplier that informed me (and in turn, I informed my clients) about eg. the RAM limitations on a set of motherboards that they sell. The main limitation was that only Transcend and Patriot RAM work on these boards. We obtained the boards on 13/01 and have yet to get any one of them to successfully POST. The supplier later admitted that the DDR3 support on the boards are a hit and a miss affair after they managed to recreate the problem we've been having using exactly the RAM they said we should.

Since then I've yet to hear a single peep from the supplier in question :(

Not yet. I asked them to recreate the problem and then check the bios version of the batch as the latest bios update specifically mentions a fix for memory issues. That was 9 days ago.
 
RMA this crap and purchase and provide the latest technology to your clients.

I'm not paying for it. The client wanted to upgrade slowly and over time as he did not have the $$$ to upgrade right this second. A bridge board would allow him to do that so that is the route the client opted for. I am in no position to deny the client that.

How is deploying 775 MB's , "upgrading"?

Client does not want to shell out for a new CPU, RAM and a motherboard just to be able to play games again (current motherboard does not like his GFX card). He would rather get some new RAM now that he can use again 12 months down the line when he plans to get a new CPU and motherboard. I'm not going to argue.
 
Get your client's money back and upgrade to a cheap Haswell dual-core chip and a LGA1150 board. That's the only way you're going to get this sorted and end up with something that has a decent local warranty. Or go with a Core i3 chip. Either way, LGA775 is a dead end and has zero support.

Also which cpu is your client using as 430 cel cpu's don't work at all with the boards(bus speed issue)

Two things confuses me: if it is only one client why did you buy "boards" and not just "a board"? Secondly, you must realise in ICT the client is not always right. There is a difference between arguing with a client and giving advice. I would strongly advise any client against going this route and if they still insist, tell them to go somewhere else. This is NOT worth the trouble.
 
J&W. Model JW-IP43-L3. This board is a Socket 775 board with DDR3 slots - kinda abnormal so I asked what the limits are and accepted them as such as it is not odd to see a list of supported CPUs/RAM/etc these days.

DDR3 on LGA 775 isn't abnormal at all, all of the later boards were DDR3. In fact, I don't know of any P43/P45/X48 boards offhand that used DDR2.

Never heard of this J&W brand, why are suppliers still selling 775 boards?

J&W is a company focused squarely on entry level, much like ECS or ASRock a decade ago. They're pretty crap, but not terrible. I know that they support more than just two brands of RAM though, I've had quite a few go through my hands.

@OP, what RAM are you trying to use?
