I am getting the following error more and more on my HSDPA connection (mostly to myBroadband, but to some other sites as well)

The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Both apn's?

Now I remember why I stopped using the vpn APN. It was because I can't connect to it anymore:

RAS error code 619

Got a call from Vodacom yesterday that the re-reactivated my internetvpn APN. Still getting 619 errors, plus I can't connect to it via my phone .. hhmm

Connection still being reset, and my vpn APN still not working :( and still not showing as an activated service on v4me.

v3g, someone phoned me yesterday while driving home, so I didn't take down any details and such ... can you please check for me so I can get in contact with them again?

thanks

Update: Got another call from Vodacom this morning (in the car again). Tried the vpn APN when I got to the office, and its working, even though it is still not showing on my V4me services.

v3g, is it possible that I have too many services activated, that it is struggling to display all of them?

No, don't think so.

Do me a huge favour and send me a screen capture where it still shows inactive. We need to trace this.

v3g, Will send one shortly. Also, I was able to connect 3 times after having the techie on the phone, and after that started getting 619 errors. Couldn't spend another 30 minutes on the phone testing, so decided to just leave it and deal with the resets on the internet apn

Got it, will ask the guys to check with you again.

Sure it's not all that aluminium causing interference? ;)

So eventually I am on the InternetVPN apn ... now I am getting connection resets on this APN as well :(

Firefox and MyAdsl

I have been having trouble viewing the myadsl pages in firefox over the last few days. I havent changed any settings in firefox and the site works perfectly in Internet Explorer. In firefox, myadsl seems to be the only site I am having issues with too.

The error I get in firefox is "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading".

Has anyone else come across this issue before or has anything changed on the myadsl side in the last week?

This isse seems specific to Firefox as I have had no issues on IE7 and I have tried them concurrently.

I have also had this issue using both APNs and even a Telkom ADSL account.

Screenshot of the error message in Firefox...
[as observed by myself on Saturday 2008-02-23 for all mybroadband.co.za/* pages, both internetvpn and internet APNs]
I have previously experienced this using ADSL, but it happens more often for me using Vodacom - I cannot remember the last time it happened using ADSL - at least 4 weeks ago.

I have seen a different error message using IE7, but this problem happens most consistently using Firefox, and the reason is quite simple IMO: Firefox 2.0.0.* is more standards compliant than IE7 is, I suspect what is happening, is that Firefox is only receiving partial page content from the server - that the content is being truncated somewhere and the http connection is possibly being closed as well. It's hard to tell, extensive debugging is required to determine exactly what is happening behind this error message, I don't have nor am I able to obtain such access from the server side.
