To put it another way, more white friendly.

The same brother in law now back in Nam, does work in Moz, Botswana, SA, Kenya and of course is back in Nam.

His take was that SA was the worst place to work because of the attitudes he encounters - across the colour bar.
I think he said something to the effect of - the people are just different - in SA and he had no desire to stay here.

I also think, for those of us who travel alot, you cant help but compare the places you have been with home.

The question always seems to revolve around - quality of life. Its one thing having a great job, earning great money, living in a nice house, but ... <insert issues here>

Even though i was born in Namibia, i'd probably look into Botswana first if i need to plan an escape route out of SA. But admittedly i find it very alluring living out there doing IT in such an open barren like country.

If you don't have one of the following, you can pretty much forget about it:
1. Citizenship
2. Domicile status
3. Permanent residency.

Namibian companies will only consider to employ non citizens in extreme cases of where special needs visas can be issued. Even in these cases, it can take months and months to finalize (or decline) these visas.

Namibia is a very big country with the 2nd lowest pop density in the world...

A lot of people do not like the big open and barren spaces......

From all the folk that I have seen visiting up here....... a large percentage do not like it......You either like this type of landscape or you never return!

One of my favourite reasons for visiting is the large open spaces and few people, my folks are there at the moment in Swakop actually, lucky buggers, draught beer.......

Wikipedia suggests the unemployment rate is higher in Nam than SA though, so it should be worse in Nam?
Not only that they have higher starvation rates, statistically a higher percentage of their population starve to death :/

I've said it before South Africa has always been a better Namibia that's why they move here we don't move there.:erm:
