Ergo the Xbox and PS3 are for retards.

And by that, he means the limited home entertainment features
Joke aside, games are roughly equal on either console and it comes to down to the exclusives. I've tried a PS3 and Xbox side-by-side with similar games (Forza 2 and GT5 Prolugue) with both on HDMI. Guess what? That massive difference everyone has been telling you does not really exist. Some games are slighly better on the 'box, some are better on the PS3 and some are negligable.
Blu Ray? Well that's pretty decent and could be a reason. But what exactly is 'not a massive 1080'? If it's small, you're going to be hard pressed to notice a huge difference between DVD and BD - let alone upscaled DVD on a screen that size.
Home entertainment - fantastic. Slightly limited in what it can play and do, but not too bad if that's what you're looking for. My TV plays more formats than what it offers. If you've got a ton of movies, series and music in different codecs/contaiers and are a real media buff, your best bet is to go seperate if you can.
Listening to certain people on here, you'll be think the PS3 is *the* best when it comes to every function. Truth is, it isn't, and it's up to the indivuda to determine what he currently has (equipment wise), what he will get in future (equipment wise), what he values most about the functions (BD? games? streaming?) andwhat games you prefer.
Non-bias enough?![]()
Is that your own personal reasoning?
Yep, he is still striving to get at something in life, Like some decent range of games to play on a PC.
Is that your own personal reasoning?
Some people like to compare their 150K Home theater systems with the PS3!
Guys - is that a beer? :/
so you can choose between a lambourghini gallardo (PS3) or a porsche (x-box)...and would say go wtih the ps3...
lol he never said which porscheHe could have meant a Boxster?
Seriously, the OP is considering a PS3. His choices are either a PS3 or xbox. You are telling that it is a choice between a PS3 or a xbox + media server + bluray player. Is money an object? If not, just tell him to buy all!Guys - is that a beer? :/
I mean that he was deciding to buy a gaming console and you mentioned and put down everything about the PS3's media capabilities. You have not really mentioned the media capabilities of the xbox. Afterall, he needs to decide between the 2 and not between a PS3 and a BD Player right?Seriously? Read the thread. I told him to :
a) Not turn into a IAP
b) gave non bias advice
What exactly did you mean?
Ok some reasons:lol...always technicalitiesthe one thing i've recently noticed....guys will never give reasons why to buy an X-BOX ...but rather reasons when considering the purchase of a PS3 (this is the 3rd active thread)....So there's no competitve edge the 360 really has anymore (bar some of it's exclusives which in all honesty is dulled by the PS3 offerings)...just really interesting...the only attractive aspect of the 360 these's days is a specific title (e.g. ME2 and you don't have a PC) or the general assumption of everyone's got one...it will be easy to get games, yada yada yada....
Just an observation...
Fair enough, I guess that when I read you "non-bias" reply, I should actually get a stand alone media system to play games.A REALSITC view ... that's all. And he didn't mention Xbox - why would I mention it? I'm not trying to sway him ... just point out what it can/can't do factually
