Constructive criticism and advice needed on my online store

I have been selling computer components on the sideline for a few years now and recently decided to start my own online store. I played around with Opencart, Zencart, osCommerce and Woocommerce and in the end I decided on woocommerce due to the amount of addons and options available as well as their support. I know Wordpress websites are targeted a lot with malware and hacking but I think that I have taken all the precautions I could and my website should be pretty well protected. I'm also not going to be saving any credit card details on my website.

For now I would just like a general feeling on the layout, look and feel of the website. A fresh pair of eyes that can spot any glaringly obvious and possibly a few not so obvious mistakes or emissions. I am busy getting all the images uniform at the moment since I've changed my mind about how they should look about twenty times since I started.

This is still a work in progress so not all the products have been loaded yet but I am getting there slowly but surely.

Too many pages. Go play on Esquire website to get the feel the difference using left menu bar if you have many products.

For which products? I am busy grouping the products together like I did with the DDR4 memory.

Your colour scheme is bad. Stick with white background.
Also looks broken on chrome. Customer login boxes are not aligned.

I only looked at the first page and then saw you have 80+ pages so looked at page 80 and gave up. Look at Windows Start page to get the idea how to index and move me to the product of interest for myself fast and effectively.

I have removed the login boxes for now, will find something that works better.

Those are 80 plus pages with all the products. The drop down menu should send you where you want to go?
 
yeah it looks pretty rough in FF


First up, get a nicer and neater logo. drop about $30 on Fiverr.com for a nice one with a few variations and revisions included.

Go with a lighter color scheme and more modern colors. This blue, green and grey is not doing it.

Check out some of the premium Woocommerce themes on ThemeForest.com - sure they cost about $60, but money well spent

Notable themes include Flatsome and Porto - just using their default layouts will take your site miles ahead of what you have currently.

I tried the darker background to be a bit different from all the other online shops but I will follow your advice and change the colour scheme. As for the premium themes, I will probably go that route in a month or two once I have all the products and images sorted. I will have at look at having a logo designed as well.

why not put search bar in top right of window. Looks out of place where it is.
Also when I click through to a product the search bar is right next to the information, searching has nothing to do with viewing the product if that makes sense.

Process flow I think is broken, you want them adding to cart and checking out in as few steps as possible and without thinking.
After clicking through to details page, theres a compare button, wheres the add to cart button here. Comparing is not as important as adding to cart.
Perhaps make the background of the cart red after adding something to it.

Good so far, change the Intel Sockets/motherboards to capitals. lga 2011 looks tacky.

I nuked the site yesterday but didn't turn off the caching, you should only see a coming soon page now. Thanks to ITCynic's advice my site will be back in the next day or two with a better look and interface.
 
So my day or two turned into a day or two short of a month.

I've changed a few things so please have a look again and let me know what you guys think.

Just on an aside, is it really worth it to build your own site for a few products? As opposed to selling on existing platforms or takealot? IMHO the time/cost/effort to build your own site can be much better utilised to build and promote your products.

Just asking and wondering out loud....

Using existing platforms I feel you can't really give your customers the individual attention they deserve. A lot of my existing clients aren't interested in researching different components and seeing which component works best for what they want to do and that is where I come in.
