Consumers dont care about 3DTV

I would think that a lot of guys out there buy TV's on all of these nice to have functions, but NEVER actually use them.

I'd love to have 3dtv, if it was painless, glasses free, didn't come with a huge price premium, and had plenty of content available. 3D is a very impressive feature when it's used well.

The one benefit if 3D LCDs is that it's pulling down the price of non-3D LCDs which is what I'd like to buy.

I used mine initially when i got it, soccer looked good using the 2D-3D conversion. Haven't bothered again really.

I have already got a whole lot of 3d content in anticipation of my 3dtv. Although thats on hold now.. so much else going on.

Don't prefer the 3D TV from the beginning. :(

Rather spend money for more thinner LED and slimmer edge TV. :D

Its a completely pointless 'feature', one I would not pay for, or use.
I've been saying this since Avatar.

Not yet, but if I was in the market for a new TV this would be the top. I bet all the next generation of consoles will fully support 3D.
Also, I do believe the market is still in its infancy, There are many 3D cameras now available to consumers. There are cell phones that can record and take 3D pictures. Its just a matter of time before there are 3D broadcasts - Broadcasts are already happening in europe http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/3d/ Some sports are even broadcast in HD 3D.

The only thing holding 3Dtv is price of the sets witch will undoubtedly drop with time.

quite happy right now with HD, they're still struggling to get real 3D right even in cinema's.

Unless there's a significant shift in the technology to really make it more immersive (sic) then I'm not really interested

Glasses should be cheap R10 tops. LG's 3D TV's have passive glasses and they're cheap and light, i like that idea. Now if the set was priced around the 2D price points i would be interested, but its not.

So the price HAS to come down... as for glasses free, its just not possible at the moment.

I bought 2 of these got a real good price at Makro, they were about R1500 more than the non 3D ones. I enjoy the movies on them, I have about 14 so far 3D Blurays not rips or anything. As a gamer for more than 20 years 3D gaming sucks. I tried Dead Island yesterday and I nearly puked. Deus EX was better though.

PS3 already fully supports 3D
