Content Filter Blocking Email

Sheer unadulterated nonsense - what is you source for this information? How then do you explain all the emails with no subjects that I get every day???

And I simply do not send out emails without subjects - which mail was this? The only time this can ever occur is if I have replied quickly to an email that doesn't have a subject, in which case why would it then regard EVERY email I send out as spam? And you did not take into consideration the fact that it stopped ALL THREE of my email addresses - how do you explain that if it was an email that had no subject? Are you suggesting that I did this from ALL THREE addresses?????????????????????????????

You have not begun to think about this problem. As an Internet Marketer, I am VERY aware that 'no subject' is an obvious spam target. I also told you that I do not send spam neither do I send out 'no subject' emails - this is NOT one of those issues.

Tell whoever it is that gave you this half-baked solution that it does not explain how it could happen for THREE different addresses - this is an IP issue - follow up and find out what's really happening, please.

In addition, what is your solution? Telling me that my email addresses, all three, all in different parts of the world, can no longer send out does not help me. How long is this condition going to last? What can be done about it?

I have no problem whatsoever sending out from webmail for all three of the accounts, and all the servers I am sending to accept them readily - WHAT RIGHT DO VODACOM HAVE TO STOP ANY EMAILS FROM EVEN GOING OUT?. I think this is a violation of my rights - since when does a "Big Brother" like Vodacom have the right to decide which messages are appropriate and which ones not? ALL of these messages are to people who know me well, which perhaps is the perfect illustration of the problem - the SYSTEM is stopping legitimate emails, MANY OF THEM! It needs to STOP!

What are you doing about this?My business depends on email, and you are stopping legitimate emails from going out - surely that should be the receiving server's responsibility, if any should even have that right?

To be quite honest, I'm not sure if I can help you.

You posted a reference number above (07523-15/WnhyIg4YI4h1), I asked for the details on the reference number and the logs I got back showed that the mail was blocked because it had no body (NOT SUBJECT) and when I give you this information you attack me? :confused:

I suggest you mail postmaster at vodamail.co.za and take it up with them.

uncommon-
I have mailed thousands of emails through Vodacom for my business every month. V3G helped me, attacking someone trying to help makes it look like you may be a spammer.:confused:
Otherwise accept the help.

It's NOT HELP. Have a look at the example above - it has a subject!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now what?????

How does telling me that something has been identified as spam using the criterion that there was no subject (when IN FACT there WAS!) solve my problem?? In addition I TOLD you that this was MULTIPLE emails, not just one, and even mentioned that one email could not possibly be the stimulus and if it were would just illustrate my point about spam filters being stupid. I operate without any spam filters on all my addresses overseas and I manually set blocked and safe senders on my webmail and Outlook clients because in my experience spam filters catch far too many emails that I actually want.

I am not a spammer, and object to the allegation - attacking someone who specifically has not helped because their reason for drawing their conclusion is invalid is hardly evidence for spamming.

I will gladly accept the help when some valid information is provided, and answers are given to my questions - like how is it possible for all three of my email addresses to be barred on the sending server!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never seen this before, and I've been on the Net for 18 years!!!

BTW I am also in animal welfare, which this email was about - why would one want to send spam on behalf of animal welfare issues?

I still do not have an answer to a very simple question - how long is this going to last, and how do I get it fixed? It's a really simple communication protocol - people ask questions to which (normally) people in forums provide answers...

If you're not capable of answering my questions and dealing with the logic above, I question what it is you're doing here.

EMPTY MESSAGES AND VESSELS

Maybe Vodacom is aware of terrorist activities carried out by those animal welfare types
Anyway,don't feel bad about the attacks;these rightists do go off at times and often do not listen (or read...the bit about the subject being there)

OK, lets try again.

When one composes an e-mail, normally 3 fields are filled in on the e-mail client:

1) To: This is the person to whom you address the e-mail.
2) Subject: This is a short summary of the message you would like to convey.
3) Body: This is where you type in the complete message you want to convey. This is also known as the 'content'.

Now although I keep on telling you that your mail got blocked because it had no BODY or CONTENT (and even gave you the log), you keep on thinking I'm referring to the SUBJECT.

These really are two different things; 'subject' and 'body'. You'll find them on different places on your e-mail client. The subject field is typically one single line (just under the 'To:' line) while the 'body' is the big space where you can type lots of things and insert pictures and stuff.

Now, what you did was to type in the small space but you forgot to type in the big space. And as this is normally indicative of spamming, the anti-spamming engines add weight to this and if your total spam score exceeds a certain value, the mail is blocked.

As I already suggested, you're best bet is to mail [email protected] or you can also mail [email protected].

I'm just looking at the results of the spam tests:
tests=[DRUGS_STOCK_MIMEOLE=2.852, EMPTY_MESSAGE=1.496,
HTML_MESSAGE=0.001, MAILTO_TO_SPAM_ADDR=0.276, RDNS_NONE=0.1,
SARE_HTML_NO_BODY=0.687]
I think the problem was the message was sent as HTML only (in violation of the spec). Try changing your outgoing message format to plain text, or plain text and HTML.

Also try using a different email client, many of you [-]spammers[/-] internet marketers think everyone uses Outlook Express and can see their messages with embedded graphics and animations, but they end up looking awful and get deleted unread.

@uncommon, the above parts of your post that I have highlighted, are some of the reasons why I have just closed this thread - mainly your attitude stinks really badly, furthermore, as v3g has already pointed out to you, you failed to read what v3g posted and jumped to the conclusion that v3g was referring to the subject field in your emails when in fact it was the body - go read v3g's posts again, and take v3g's advice to email the relevant department within Vodacom since you have proved that you are incapable of behaving like a civilised person on a public forum.
