Contract Cancellation penalties!

Hi guys!

So in 2011 at about May, I went to Vodashop and took out a TopUp 135 contract which came with a BlackBerry.
I discovered that my upgrade date was today, and I'm now eligible for an upgrade.

The problem? It hasn't been two years.
So although I can upgrade, is it possible for me to cancel my contract and move to another carrier?

EDIT: I logged into my Vodacom account online, and I was presented with this:
Next upgrade date 20 February 2013
Contract expiry date 21 May 2013

This is a bummer, I wanted a Blackberry Z10 as it came out...
I do see that Vodacom offers it, but on what contract? I hear that they are stingy with data allocations?

well i think you answered yourself... 24 month is well... a 24 month contract

can upgrade earlier yes, but have to wait till may for it to expire by itself.

otherwise try the cancel route ( 3months x 0.75) - should be in the region of R300.00 (call vodacom cancellations for a quote..)
