Converting from Android to Blackberry

I guess you can say its the same as me using an Xperia Play for my games and a HTC Desire HD as my day to day phone.

Anyway, regardless of what you do with it or like to call it, I fail to see how it impacts on the freedom in relation to the advices I have given.

Dark themes, switching radios, limiting widgets to essential ones and screen brightness have no impact the freedom of the device esp when taken into relation to battery saving. Yes you don't have to apply all the measures but knowledge is key and if you know how to prolong the life of your device you can take the steps you are most comfortable with in reaching that goal.

the brightness affects the entertainment. the displays are beautiful. the colours vivid. but you cant enjoy it because you adjust the screen brightness. turning your radio to 2g is like neutering a dog, let the dog run! its so liberating to not watch your data all the time. but that 'H' burns through data. i enjoy my device alot more now.

my main screen is full of widgets, all of which i use. i don't have twitter widgets or facebook widgets. that stuff sux the living daylights out of your phone and most dont even work correctly. i manually sync all my apps but i notice that there is a couple of rogues still but i have a good idea of what they are.

all im saying is enjoy the droid like the designers/programmers set it up once in a while! let the beast loose:twisted:

See, debating with typical child mentality. Trying so desperately to be right that at the same time you end up to prove my point.

I did not say remove all widgets, only the none essential ones, something you just claimed to be doing by dropping Twitter and Facebook.
I did not say use 2G, I said switch between 3G and WiFi, maybe you failed a reading comprehension?
I did not say run with low brightness all the time, I said manual switch to full when needed. Oh and the reason experts claim that manually switching screen brightness is better is because the sensors normally call for false positives and other times are slow to react. Go read my advice again... ;)

Anyway I am done with you, you sound more like a troll to me anyway.

With regards to screen brightness MIUI actually has a very customizable "auto" brightness. I've played around with mine a bit and it seems to be pretty good now. The sensors don't seem to be the greatest though.

Another thing I've done which probably helps is I've set my screen timeout to "never" and I manually switch off the screen when I want. Only caveat is when I plug in to charge the screen turns on so I manually turn it off each time.
