Ctrl+shift+esc and you can see network usage in realtime. Fair enough, can't gauge long-term usage. Hardly matters though.

Yeah for me solo that might work for the now if I wanted real-time only. What about everyone else on our network? How much did I/we download/upload yesterday? How about the last month?

It matters not for you, sure. For me though it makes a difference and if I've had the functionality (it's obviously available for many) then why should I just forego it entirely?
