Noticed it once - seems to be a more frequent occurrence these days

Lost connection twice now (for a few minutes each time) since about 1PM, ThinkSpeed (a.k.a. Century City Connect), not sure if anyone else in the area noticed this.
HI, I'm not seeing an influx of tickets, or an announcement in this regard.
If the issue persist, I would recommend logging a ticket and including a local MTR if possible.

Not sure why, but discord would not connect.
If i enable warp it then connects.

edit: never mind, seems the same issue is all over the discord reddit.
Yea seems there some issues with discord:

Anyone else with slow upload speed on Metrofibre?
Paying for a 400Mbps/400Mbps but since yesterday upload speed is 3Mbps.

Starting to get annoyed with Cool Ideas...constant issues the past month.

When opening a support request, they are making me troubleshoot my whole network and every time the issue is on their side.

If you scroll and read up you will see multiple complaints all about Metrofibre who seem to be experiencing congestion issues during peak.

I'm in CT on Vumatel and any time of the day I get 100/100 on my 100/100

There seem to be issues so often these days especially at night. Suddenly a whole of websites will be inaccessible or not loading properly. Things seem different recently, hopefully the changes that are causing these issues can be reverted.

I know everyone says.. wired connection and that..

But my download speeds are ridiculous the last few months..

Upload perfectly fine. I don't think it has ever went above 15mbs in the last 4 months.

Is there anything I can do to improve this?Screenshot_20230930_165534_Speedtest.jpg

Packet loss on fibre line generally shows this low download and fine upload.

Look at the thread titled iperf do them and log a ticket with iperfs, speedtests and MTRs all on cabled devices

Same. Had to switch to Mobile data cos it was soooo slow even standing next to the WiFi router

Tried 5Ghz as well

Cabled slow. Will log a call If the issue persists

So the point of testing with a cabled device is to narrow down where the issue may be. Basically, it is just to remove the potential of poor wireless performance (which happens a lot).

From there you then know where the issue would be, typically line or FNO from there.

I know I'm testing over WiFi but wanted to check with you guys if this is normal over WiFi to see big variations in ping spikes or if it's a router issue?

Also I'm not sure what the packet loss on the first hop means if it's an issue with the router or if its normal?

Your first hop jump (router) is quite normal for WiFi my 5ghz can jump between 1ms and 50ms depending if the router is connected and being used my average on WiFi is often around 3 to 5ms but that's when no one else is connected.

The packet loss is you just pinging your router and it not responding often if you choose 1ms intervals it will do that. The packet loss doesn't carry past the router so everything is fine just your router choosing not to respond to every ping

@CrypticZA Cool thanks, I'm testing over ethernet now, getting the same loss on the first hop as well which I take is normal from your explanation as well?

@CoolEscalator, will keep you updated this coming week with regards to graphs. Hopefully I can find out where the issue is with my random disconnects throughout the day.
