I have a theory, and want to confirm quick, are you experiencing any issues , like loss or slow speeds when doing normal surfing or gaming?

(not ICMP traffic)

Just doing normal stuff i was busy with a VPS and SSH was very laggy checked the MTR and the whole MTR is lossy Also the smokeping over the last 3 hours & 30 hours

Hmm, and speed tests , streaming etc? Any issues there at the moment?

  • Music (Spotify) - no issues
  • Youtube @ 4K - no issues
  • Browsing to some sites - slow
  • SSH/RDP - slow

Thanks, our team is making some changes . Muy suspicion was ICMP threshold (pps limit ) , as were not getting any influx reports of performance related issues, and there are a few thousand clients on this router. . But should start looking better soon on the monitoring side of things

Thanks , as if it were Loss other than ICMP, everything would have been impacted,
I'm not sure why browsing and SSH/RDP would have been a problem though.. interesting

Thanks this makes sense because restarting the PPPOE session removes the packet loss across all the hops.

Okay seems there was some actual loss observed, but most of it was ICMP tho, so that could have been the cause of the browising and RDP/SSH issues I rekkon.
 
Have been having intermittent packet loss issues since yesterday. Latency, packet loss and disconnects haven’t been going crazy the past 2 hours and it’s getting worse.

Cisp Octotel west beach seem down at moment, any one else in area have service issue: don't see any notices on Cisp or Octotel page, have restarted Ont etc...
 
Is there a hard down currently in Strand/Gordon's Bay. Frogfoot?

I heard of issues earlier today, but I wasn't impacted. I am down now.
