Ja, not often you see those...I know that on my engine it's quite common to put K04 internals into a bored-out K03 housing but I am not sure what the popular option is with the diesel models.

Not surprised given the massive popularity of SUV/CUV body styles lately.
Back in the day of body-on-frame SUVs one could still make the argument that sedans and wagons handled better, but with a lot of manufacturers shifting their R&D budgets, I think this isn't as much the case anymore as it was years ago.
