I have been using mainly Corsair PSU's in my previous builds.

Anyone made use of CoolerMaster before? Are they any good?

I am looking at their V850 modular PSU.

Heard good things about them. Don't have personal experience with them myself. Always been a fan of Corsair.

Same here. Loved Corsair.

But, I built a box with all Corsair products about 2 years ago. The past 3 months I suddenly had a lot of shorts when sticking in external drives or using the DVD Writer. Basically, anything else which used power killed my PC even using an RM750i PSU, and last week it finally died. When powered on, I could see lights coming on, but nothing else happened. I suspect either the Motherboard, PSU and/or RAM (I actually hope my RAM survived, but will see when my new box is up and running) went.

I decided to upgrade to the 8th generation CPU's from the 7th gen. My previous box set me back around R43k. I do not have this budget this month, so I decided to look at cheaper products than Corsair. CoolerMaster looked good. I actually decided to buy a new Chassis from them and glad I did. This far the Chassis is better than the Corsair chassis I had before. CoolerMaster is a lot more functional for me.

In fact, this time around I am also going to try their MasterLiquid Pro 240 CPU cooler. I was not happy with my last H110i from Corsair. The one fan died within the first month of using it.

In any event, I will try their PSU and see how it goes.
