Cops caught on camera 'executing' criminal (WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT)

Indeed.

They had him down already and you can see his gun is out of reach.

The cops need to be charged with murder.

The angle they came in from there was no way to see if he was still armed or not. See the cop that shot him is the furthest to the right almost still behind the bakkie. Fact is, he would not have been shot if he didn't shoot at the cops. String Darwin candidate.

The nonchalant way they executed him makes me wonder how many times they've done this before.

And it also scares me how unprofessional and possibly incompetent they were. At no point did they secure the firearm that was lying within arms reach, and rather milled about a bit.
This.

The most depressing thing about this thread is how clearly we have lost faith in the legal system to provide justice.
That in itself is the slippery slope and we're gathering momentum...

They kicked away the gun before shooting him in the head?

That is still now how it works.

I have no sympathy for the criminal, make no mistake. I just fear they do this to other people for far less harsh crimes or maybe even someone that isn't involved at all.

Huh?

I'll have to watch it again from home but that's not what I saw. He was kicked and the gun kicked away after the fact. (I might be wrong) can't view it from work, I remember after watching it yesterday morning.

Whooo haaaa...

Strange how there is so many assumptions here. Look at the video again.

The guy falls and his gun is to his side. There is an innocent person falling to the ground next to him while getting out of the car to comply with the situation. (Probably assumed police are pulling them over) in a split second the police come our the vehicle from the back. At that point they have no idea he doesn't have his gun in his hand no more. The fact that an innocent victim is laying next to him makes it even worse. The cop rounds the corner and shoots.

This was a high risk situation and no room for logical thinking just training. They were already under fire from the same perp. I have no doubt things could have been handled slightly different with a better outcome. But we sit outside looking in. How would you respond in such a situation? They're bodies already passed the fight or flight response and they chose fight. Simple as that. Forget your emotions for a second and put yourself in their shoes.

What are you even talking about?

I'm talking about after the guy had driven off already. They just stand around even though the gun is still within arms reach. At no point do they secure the weapon. They just stand around and then calmly execute him.

I have not seen that at all.

There is a slow-mo clip of the cop on the right of the fat one coming from behind the car and shooting the fallen perp. The bakkie was still there and the innocent as well. Only then does the bakkie drive away and the fat guy kick him. I'll post the video when I get home. I can't watch it from work :o If he was shot again after all of this then I haven't seen it.

All i saw was a criminal reaching for his gun and the cop finished him off. great work , he is a hero.

He is shot again. The video is in the link in the OP.

You seem to misremember the incident.

Nice fictional addition. No doubt the cop will claim the same thing. ;)

I read the article now and was not aware of the 3rd shot as it was not in the video I saw.

Who recorded this anyway?

Edit: Not the CCTV part, there is a video of the actual robbery, there is a truck in the road with a forklift next to it, and that's where it all started.

It looks like it might have been CCTV as it is from an (house view) its all shot from the house's perimeter wall most likely.

Yes unfortunately for the cop he did indeed went back and shoot the guy again, after it looked as he confirmed if he can do so as you can see he is talking to one of hes mates and then positioned himself to get a clear shot.

Its that last shot that will be used to nail them instead of congratulate them for doing their work.

Yes, My apologies. I never saw the 3rd shot from the video I watched.

I had an edit there. I was referring to the actual robbery and the guy running shooting at police. Maybe another CCTV camera?

It's clearly an execution.
Pretty sickening to be quite honest. even more so that so many of you are condoning it.

The guy is a criminal but the last thing we need to be doing is kicking someone when they've been shot twice and then when everything has subsided, execute the guy.
He was lying motionless on the ground, the cop took aim and killed him in cold blood.
That's ****ed up no matter how you look at it.

Very worrying to be honest.

You can see that not many of the people here condoning the act have actually had many dealings with South African police. I wouldn't trust most of them with a stick, let alone caring a gun and deciding who they can execute with it.

That's an execution, plain and simple. Those cops should be in jail.

Which is what led me to ask how many times they've done this before, out of eye-shot of CCTV cameras...

And potentially for flimsy reasons with people who aren't necessarily criminals.

The Marikana cops had no problem fabricating evidence to bolster their narrative.

I had 2 friends who were driving home from the movies one night and their car was the same make and model as that which was involved in a robbery that same night. The cops started shooting at them out of the blue while driving. They then proceeded to pull them out the car when they stopped and beat the **** out of both of them.

Now replace my friends with your friends and/or family and replace the **** beaten out of them with the execution that happened in this video and you will change your tune very quickly. What would your viewpoint be if your child was driving home and the cops mistake his identity and kill him?

Do I feel anything for the guy being killed? No. Is this blatant disregard for the law on the part of the police? Most definitely. Sure these cops have done many people a favour, but these police officers are now murderers.
