Cops caught on camera 'executing' criminal (WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT)

I saw them shooting the guy - eyewitness to police 'execution'

Naledi Shange, News24

Johannesburg - Khulekani Mpanza, killed after a police chase, seemed out of breath when the cops caught up with him and he was shot dead, an eyewitness told News24 on Tuesday.

Arnold Feuth was present when police shot at Mpanza in what has since been labelled an act of execution.

"I saw them shooting the guy," Feuth said.

Asked whether Mpanza seemed angry when he was firing shots, Feuth said he could not say.

"He was more tired... He couldn't run anymore," Feuth said.

Mpanza's killing was thrust into the spotlight after CCTV footage of the shooting surfaced.

In the footage Feuth is seen wearing a red T-shirt, running behind the police as they chased Mpanza down Harvey Street in Lewisham, Krugersdorp.

Feuth told News24 that he was lying on the couch on October 19 when he heard gunshots outside his house.

"I ran out and I saw the black guy with the gun in his hand. I also heard the cops coming and I chased after the guy with the gun," Feuth said.

Mpanza 'fired shots'

As he followed the police, Feuth said he witnessed Mpanza firing shots, one of which grazed a female officer.

"He shot the lady police officer in the arm and then she shot him," said Feuth.

"Then the other [policeman] came and shot [Mpanza] again."

The video footage shows that at this time Mpanza was on the ground, already injured by the first shot. His firearm lay a short distance away from him.

The second shot appeared to have hit Mpanza in the head.

The four police officers have since been arrested and charged with murder.

They are scheduled to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court later on Tuesday.

Fecker deserved it and the others deserve it too

They should have shot the accomplice getaway car driver as well... he just drove away, scot free!! ;)

Um, that was a civilian. The truck was delivering goods to the house where the CCTV was. Not involved in the altercation, the police told him to move his vehicle.

Why is the media only mentioning 2 shots in all their articles since there was 3

1. Shot while running - Suspect falls
2. Shot as cop rounded the vehicle
3. Execution shot after delivery van left

Example:

Police fire a shot at him, causing him to fall to the ground and drop his weapon, which he had reportedly used to fire at the officers as he fled.

As Mpanza lies on the ground, an officer comes and kicks him while another shoots at him again.

The second shot apparently hit Mpanza in the head

I have seen this in 2 articles already today...

Krugersdorp ‘execution’ victim’s brother speaks out, 1 accused granted bail

JOHANNESBURG - The brother of a man allegedly ‘executed’ by police says if it wasn’t for the media, he would have never known the truth about the shooting.

Four Krugersdorp police officers are expected to make their first court appearance this afternoon.

The Sunday Times published images captured by a CCTV camera which appear to show suspected robber Khulekani Mpanza being shot dead while lying on the pavement with his gun out of reach.

Mboniseni Mpanza says police told him two weeks ago that his brother was shot dead by police officers whose lives were in danger.

But he says the video footage seems to tell a different story.

“That was not right. Even if you find a person at a robbery, you’re supposed to arrest them not and kill him.”

It remains to be seen what explanation they will give for the shooting.

ONE OF FOUR ACCUSED COPS GRANTED BAIL

I thought the commentator made a mistake on the radio this morning but I guess it's plausible as the camera angle changes.

Even with the angle changing.

The second shot is right as they get to the perp (Van is still in the picture)

The 3rd shot is done after the Van has left. Does the dead perp only have 2 wounds then or how do they get to this number? Maybe one of the shots missed. Either the second or the third shot. Just confusing tbh.

Yeah you can see him getting shot in the chest just before the one cops kicks him.

I was being sarcastic, hence the winky face ;)

What I was getting at is if the cops are so worked up and trigger happy what was to stop them thinking the delivery van driver was an accomplice and then executing him too?

I wonder if he didn't fall because of the gunshot. Like he collapse hoping to not get hit.

Then they just shot him as he lay on the ground, then again after the bakkie pulled away.

No outcry in this thread I see...when an honest hardworking cop gets killed protecting us nobody makes a big fuss about it yet when a criminal dies its a big deal just because we saw the video.

It's a big deal because the criminal that died was executed in cold blood. He was shot twice, left for a while, then kicked, left for a while again (all with none of the cops trying to secure him or his weapon) and then non-chalantly shot in the head.
If anyone thinks that is praise-worthy...then you should have no problem with cops mowing down everyone and anyone they feel like.

They do that? Anyone said or claimed they do? Links please!

What I see in this thread is little apathy for the death of the criminal scum bar from a few apologists!
