Cops caught on camera 'executing' criminal (WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT)

This particular atrocity or atrocities in general? His posts would indicate that he doesn't have the emotional maturity to fathom either.

It should not matter. He is reasoning why this might have happened. Maybe he's way off, maybe he is correct. He's not advocating this or criticising it but wanting to turn these guys into heroes but maybe is just trying to understand.

So that justifies murder?

It is justified by his actions shooting at the cops. If he was a better shot quiet a few cops would have been dead and you would still be here lambasting this cop. The criminal deserved what he got and it should happen more often maybe then the attitude would change.

Spinning the question around into answer is also a painful trait of yours.

Have you seen the video?
He was shot, lying prone on the ground. The cops should have arrested him then.
Instead they kicked him, took their time and then shot him in the head.
How is executing someone who is busy dying justified?

Weak rebuttals are also a constant nuisance. Do you think the IPID case against the cops is unfair?

I think we should stay away from fair and unfair. Is it necessary under the relevant statute? Yes. Then it has to proceed.

The state has the luxury of dealing with matters such as this one without any adrenaline running through its arteries.

I am avaialble for teaching lessons if you can afford it. I am glad it pains you. Honestly!

I could put adrenaline to the first shooter who shot him in the chest (coming around the blind side of a car etc etc) , but the second one who executed is going to be a bit harder to justify the same.

Suddenly you are a scientific specialist on adrenaline rush ? LOL!

Thing is, people are not robots. No matter how many times I curse or hit (within reason) my PC it won't take it out on anybody else.

The state has the luxury to do this objectively but it should hopefully not do the inquiry in a vacuum of idealism but should look at what actually happens.

And for the record, yes, it was immoral to kill that man. But the state has to decide on relevant justification, mitigating circumstances, the sociology involved and very important - what the take home lessons for the state are. Is this a warning of worse things to come or just a serious of spurious events. What can be done to prevent this on many levels?

It's a big list of to-do's with too much bureaucratic red tape and poor management.

'Execution' officers feel hurt about their treatment - union

Naledi Shange, News24

Johannesburg - The officers arrested in connection with the killing of Khulekani Mpanza felt hurt about the way they are being treated following the incident, the SA Policing Union said on Tuesday.

"They are feeling very bad. They are feeling hurt about the treatment they are receiving," said Peter Ntsine, Sapu's Gauteng deputy chairperson.

He was speaking outside the Krugersdorp Magistrate's Court where the four officers had just appeared.

One of the officers, the only female in the group, Dipuo Chipe, was charged with defeating the ends of justice, while the other three faced an additional charge of murder.

Chipe was granted R5 000 bail, while the other officers were scheduled to apply for bail next week.

Scores of police officers dressed in civillian clothing came in support of the four officers who were arrested on Monday following an investigation by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.

Ntsine, however, accused the SA Police Service of failing officers in their time of need.

"As Sapu, we would have loved the management of the SA Police Service to have been on board and support the members," said Ntsine.

Police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza said they were not going to comment on a pending matter.

Since their arrest, SAPS had also said served the four officers with notices of suspension.

Sapu, however, was throwing its entire weight behind the officers.

We don't know full story - Sapu

While a video of the officers apparently chasing the suspect and shooting him dead after he was disarmed had caused great debate, Ntsine said the public did not have the whole story.

"We have seen the footage, but that is not the whole thing that is there... The footage that I have seen has been stated to have been edited," said Ntsine.

Meanwhile, colleagues and relatives of the accused on Tuesday clashed with some members of the media, accusing them of vilifying the officers.

Ntsine said they did not have answers about the true story behind the incident.

"We know... a robbery [was] committed. We know that the police officers reacted and attended to the scene. We cannot comment on the video," he said.

The three officers, who remained behind bars, had initially been kept at the Krugersdorp police station, the same station where they had been based.

The court, however, ordered that they be moved to the Roodepoort police station.

They would return to court on November 10 for their formal bail application.

TimesLive (who I think first broke the footage) should at least update the video to show the previous scene.

Arm chair critics please tell me out of all of you who has been shot at in real life and not a video game?

My point being when the **** is flying there is anger and absolutely no time things go wrong people respond to the situation. I see policeman getting murdered everyday and there is no debate about in the least.

Blame the media. Too much focus on the bad apples.

And given the murder stats there is already severe under reporting on it in general.

Completely agree, The Service should stand by their members through thick and thin.
Something like this should never even go to court, but be handled by an internal enquiry.
