While a video of the officers apparently chasing the suspect and shooting him dead after he was disarmed had caused great debate, Ntsine said the public did not have the whole story.

"We have seen the footage, but that is not the whole thing that is there... The footage that I have seen has been stated to have been edited," said Ntsine.

Meanwhile, colleagues and relatives of the accused on Tuesday clashed with some members of the media, accusing them of vilifying the officers.

Is this guy for real ? Whose interest would it serve to edit these videos - three video recordings from different sources; that would be a massive collusion.

And asking SAPS to support officers when they ran foul of regulations ? That's a stretch.

I think they only saw the Sunday Times footage. Just as well otherwise he would have seen the police firing at the bottle store too.

The criminals will be there by your doorstep a few times long before the cops respond so do not fear the cops but rather watch your perimeter and keep your doors shut!

Feeble excuse as that is exactly IMHO why cops and citizens are getting trigger happy. Watch the news as ABSOLUTE ZERO tolerance will be coming soon! If a cop see a armed criminal like in this case they should shoot to kill no matter the circumstances, never give him the chance to kill anyone.
 
Krugersdorp ‘execution’: top cop suspended

Parliament - The Krugersdorp police station commander has been served with a notice of suspension following the alleged execution of a suspected armed robber last month by members from that police station, MPs heard on Wednesday.

A video of the incident was featured on YouTube, and stills of the footage was published in the Sunday Times.

Briefing Parliament’s portfolio committee on police, acting national police commissioner Khomotso Phahlane said the initial lack of action against the four officers implicated in the incident was concerning.

“The intended suspension of the station commander is informed by the fact that he or she would have received the information much earlier before we saw it in the newspapers,” Phahlane said.

“After having access to the video…nothing was done.”

Well, if you consider the Zimbabwe society 'better' then of course you are right, but why are they fleeing the country, and why are they even more impoverished. The crime rate is lower in Zimbabwe, much lower such that you can walk around in the streets...so make a move to Zimbabwe then.
Maybe , yes we are in cuckoo land, where the cops are held accountable for deaths (they do happen) and as a result the good cops are highly respected by the community because they are doing their job, and the community goes out of their way to assist the cops.
Result ...lower crime.

You are welcome to learn from the mad people of cuckoo land.

Bu irrespective of where you are in a civilised society (one that you want right), the cops are not entitled to execute at whim, irrespective of who shot first. If you disagree with that then I have nothing further to say to you.

Cops get executed for being cops why don't you support them instead of criminals?
