Hi,

At work if I want to email a picture I've seen on teh web, I simply copy and paste it into the mail ... but with Windows 7 / Live mail it gives the block witha cross :/

Is there a setting?

I want to mail someone a picture - but not an attachment

ja, just enable the gmail setting.

seriously, make sure you that are getting the picture alone. When you see the picture on the web page right click and choose view picture (in Firefox) or in Internet Explorer right click and choose properties to get the direct link. Paste the direct link into the browser bar so that you see the picture alone. eg. http://www.visitingdc.com/images/eiffel-tower-picture.jpg

now press ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy to the clipboard, and then Ctrl-V to paste it into your mail window. The only setting you need to worry about is that the e-mail format is set to HTML.
