Core Ultra 5 225H dropping frames on Youtube

That seems strange.

Make sure Dynamic refresh rate is Off?

Download MSI afterburner or equivalent to check if something is running hot and throttling.
I do have VRR on and something called frame sync

The laptop is super cool

Silly question, have you checked the network? I mean if it's youtube and the Asus website, try plugging into your router first or check your wifi settings.

I am hardwired pretty much all the time minus at home and it occurs on my home and the office networks

Honestly for the price of this laptop and considering no other PCs in the office show this behavior I feel it is better to return it, 16GB of Ram also is not enough for me
I would, that is really odd to be honest.

I feel it is the Arc graphics is what is letting this laptop down

Everything else is great.

Now to find a laptop with a similar screen after this one is going to be hard

Which is odd cause it plays game

Is there a health check in bios / pre boot?
The one with Dells is pretty good. I had a similar issue with a Dell a few years ago. The CPU would not boost. It would just sit in 10% of its capacity all the time and the health check picked it up. Dell replaced the laptop.

Not that I know of but CPU does seem to be boosting to 3.2ghz (base is 1.7ghz)

I recently had to assist a friend with an issue like this.
In the end we did an RMA… machine had some kind of hidden flaw. Replacement was OK

That machine should have absolutely no problem playing YouTube, even my Celeron thinclient running Win 11 Pro with 8gb of ram can play 1080p 30fps YouTube flawlessly

I know right I have a 12th gen i5 pc and even a ryzen 7 and plays 4k no issues

Maybe will have to do this, although using this laptop the 16gb of ram just is not enough and unfortunately this is unable to expand

The thing is it is at odd times sometimes it plays no issues other times it lags and drops frames, even just regular windows use sometimes drops fps

Thanks for everyone's help

Can anyone recommend me with a similar laptop particularly the screen (3K 120hz OLED) and not these Core Ultra CPUs

Even if it is a good IPS glossy display it would be fine
