Core Ultra 5 225H dropping frames on Youtube

I had a weird issue recently with my Dell Laptop using Chrome, it updated and whenever I played YouTube it caused my screen to freak out and my laptop to restart...

Been using Brave Browser and both Windows and Chrome have updated and its 100% again.

At the time only Chrome caused the machine to crash and I've been using the laptop for 3 years... couldn't find any reason why it was doing it, was about to format the thing again (was formatted when I resigned) but tried Brave and it was fine again...

Weirdest thing I've ever experienced
 
Do you have a "Low Latency" option in the Intel Graphics Software application? Some ARC users are reporting better performance with this setting turned off.

Also, you could try testing the oldest available version of the graphics driver. Intel usually has a drop down list to choose older drivers from.

Will try this I think there is some low latency setting.

The older driver actually made videos drop frames so bad it was unwatchable, new driver improved but did not solve the problem

Although I feel it is our local distributors who spec the laptops way different from the US for example, there is a Ryzen version of this laptop but it is absent locally, as with many spec'd machines found in the US
 
Although I need Windows for one program for work, I could spin up a VM and RDP into it so how is the Macbook Air M3 15 inch with 16GB ram and 256gb SSD ?

ASUS is generally crap… these are the people who make laptops with 2GB of RAM and no memory slot to allow an upgrade. So you are forced to live with dog slow Windows

Yea true, hate this new trend of soldered memory on many new laptops, with the way windows is becoming a unoptimized piece of crap alot of laptops will be forced to be thrown out.

Even my new laptop uses 50% of its memory doing nothing
 
Should be a lot more capable, probably faulty gpu chip, driver flaw or something if I had to guess.

I have an i3, 16gb ram pc with integrated Intel HD graphics, and I can view 4k 60fps YouTube video with no problems.
 
Have two laptops and while they are quite different from each other made me stuck between them

1. Asus Vivobook 15 OLED , i7 1355u 24gb ram , 2.8K 120hz 15.6 inch 100% srgb

2. Lenovo LOQ 15 , i7 12650 HX , 16Gb of ram , RTX 4050 , 15.6 inch 144hz 1080p IPS with 100% Srgb

Vastly different laptops only real advantage of the Asus is the oled screen

Generally performance for most tasks should often be better in balanced mode for laptops as less heat is generated, so it can do higher boosts in bursts.

Check hooking up an external display if you have the same issue. If in games it seems fine, would check if maybe an issue with the variable refresh rate / other specific settings for the panel.

That Lenovo looks good a 100% SRGB IPS display is a nice screen, is the ram upgradable?

Honestly played a game of Fortnite this week and it was lagging all over the place I think mainly due to RAM sitting on 93% use
