I have not been able to send mail on my iPhone from early last week... none of the various service providers seems to be able to assist me after literally hours of conversations, calls and holding on together with a visit to a Vodacom shop..

When linked to my home fibre router (hosted by Axxess), the Wifi connection, indicated "weak security" warning. I have been away so this might have happened several weeks back, as I gather from Vodacom many people were effected when I gather they changed settings two months ago. I was instructed to log into my TP link router and in the Advance Wireless settings changed the encryption from 'Automatic' to 'AES". Bingo this worked and after turning the iPhone off and on the ''Weak security warning had gone.

However after changing the encryption on the iPhone, I have not been able to send emails on both my main IMac and iPhone ? My outgoing is fine as I'm able to receive emails via Mweb. Over several days I have spoken with Axxess, Mweb and Vodacom and so far no joy yet with being connected. I can however now receive emails on my Imac. Before I trek into town to the Iphone store, I was hoping I could sort this out on the forum?

Same goes for outgoing mail on the iPhone currently.. be it via the primary sever at home via Axxess Fibre or when away from home so when using 4G and with no wifi..

Depends on your mail server. Outgoing (smtp) is provider dependent. Are you using something other than Apple or Google?

So would you suggest I contact the fibre folk again, that being Axxess ? If I turn off the wifi on the phone when at home so left with 4G, I still can't send mail, but can't receive other mail.. Another clue perhaps is that on my iMac when I send a mail to myself, it bounces back on the iMac as well as my iPhone and I get this reply email -

That's a mail address error. Nothing to do with your outgoing mail.

Does this happen with every mail sent or just mail to that address?
