I've received a sms message on my cell welcoming me to CosmoText and it is deducting money of my account. For a service I've never subscribed to.
The telephone no they give in the sms doesn't even ring - 011 461 3253 - Vodacom told us we must contact Mira Networks - 011 442 2735 - but their phone just rings.
On Mira's network they say to send a message to [email protected] with your telephone no in the subject line but no luck.

Does any of you have the same problem and any ideas how to stop this subscriber service?
To whom can I also reported this? Surely this is not allowed and legal and they are taking my money.

Anticipating your replies.

Thx

There some site where you can report these things I think its called waspa or something I haven't got international, so you will have to google it. A friend of mine was in the same boat not sure what happened, but you better get it sorted out asap

Aren't they required by law to have a number where you can just SMS STOP to, and then they have to stop the service? Try posting this to the Vodacom forums so Vodacom3G can see it, or PM him the details. He might be able to help.

i had the same problem with a site that had asked for my cell number and hey started deducting R8.88 a day and with me on pre-paid R12 a week they were eating my money. so i went back to the site and found the unsubscribe sms number and that worked.

Thank you for all the replies. Got sorted out! Vodacom give a number to call, eventually got through to Mira Networks with the subscription stopped.
