Cost effective shipping from the USA

Hi, not sure if anyone is able to assist, but I'm hoping to give it a shot. I came across this site in the USA, Steve Spangler science. They have a monthly science kit club available for kids, with instructions and impressive experiments, which I would like to get for my 5 year old daughter. Unfortunately, they do not ship to South Africa. Even though (with the exchange rate) the kit is already a little costly, I don't mind paying a little extra to ship it to South Africa. However, the online shipping rates are excessive, and the cheapest I could find costs almost the same as the price of the kit. They do ship to other parts of the world, like India, Australia, UK, so I could get it shipped from a destination closer to SA, but all still fairly costly. Any ideas of what options I have to get the kit shipped cost effectively to South Africa on a monthly basis, would be very welcomed.

I use Postbox Courier when importing from UK/US, pretty cost effective and fast - and you can combine orders into one package to reduce costs for a lot of stuff.
