Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, early Thursday condemned the violence inside the Capitol building and said there would be a "peaceful and orderly transition of power."

"The attack at the Capitol was a despicable act of terrorism and a shocking assault on our democratic system. The Department of Justice should vigorously prosecute everyone who was involved in these brazen acts of violence," Cruz said in a statement as Congress certified President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College win.

Cruz had called for a 10-day audit on the election results over allegations of fraud and he was one of a handful of senators who objected to the results in Arizona and Pennsylvania.

The Texan defended his decision to call for an election commission to investigate the result because "It was the right thing to do."

Those were mostly curfew related though. There were only a few arrests at the actual scene...

Yes? It is still not 13 arrests as claimed in a post clearly trying to insinuate something.

Early days as well, could very well be further arrests seeing as people have committed federal crimes.

Not to mention members of the National Guard were deployed with more on the way, which is far more proactive than say Portland was when things went south there.

Let us try and be partial here and not veer in to the narrative that law enforcement enabled this and went along with it or didn't try and stop it. I see social media is already trying to work this angle.

They need to sort their shiz out. Someone inform the US army there is oil in their own country.

Trump is an idiot and I maintain my point. People like you causes this.
"people like you cause this", fyi.

grammar aside:

the people who cause this directly are the people who (a) actively organise nonsense cults on 4chan, (b) support and empower those nonsense cults, and (c) participate in those nonsense cults, up to and including buying and using the guns they think they need to overthrow "the Cabal". people who give both political and social power to them are equally at fault.

people posting on boards in South Africa are probably not causing this.

The Don is a symptom not a cause, The US should count itself lucky that a conman only interested in boosting his own ego won the presidency instead of somebody with his playbook intending on a massive power grab

Many keep spreading the lies and believes these people gobble up.

Many of them were encouraging the protestors last year and condoning their actions.

What you condone you encourage.

*thanks for spell checking my stuff

no problem.

nope. don't rewrite her story.

she was a Qbunny. that is, someone who voluntarily decided to abdicate the power of thought in favour of a magical fantasy land partly made of the Book of Revelations, and partly made of 4chan trolling gone wrong. she wasn't climbing through a broken window during a violent attack to get a "fair election". she, like the moron in the fake horns who is now all over the media, wanted "the Storm", which is essentially a victim-fantasy in which everyone and everything you don't understand is destroyed and you hold hands with Jesus as he makes the world a Disney-movie from the fifties again - all your fears, anxieties, your mortgage, your debts, your failed career, your shitty relationships, and your social inadequacy are revealed to have been part of a master plan and you are at the centre of it all, a shiny, shiny princess/prince.

"Less than 24 hours before the violent rally, Babbitt retweeted a tweet from Wood which read, "MUST BE DONE LIST before Congress meets today: 1. Mike Pence @vp @Mike_Pence must resign & thereafter be charged with TREASON. 2. Rod Rosenstein @RodRosenstein must be arrested & charged with being accessory to murder & TREASON. 3. Chief Justice John Roberts must RESIGN." "

worms in the brain. this is what happens when people with no critical thinking skills discover the internet.

personally, i don't think they wanted to shoot anyone, because of the martyrdom and the white-people nature of doing so. that's a big part of why they were so tepid in the whole thing. and, for better or for worse, right or wrong, i'm pretty sure if he'd known she was a woman he wouldn't have shot. (it's a chivalry thing.) but from what i saw in the video, the mob had piled onto the last barricade and she made a break for going through the window. my guess is he panicked, thinking that the mob as a whole was about to break through and just took a shot at the person in the window.

now, that said, i'm looking forward to all the people who have previously commented on protests to arrive in this thread and point out that "if she didn't want to get shot, the easiest way was not to be there", and that "she wouldn't have had a problem if she'd listened to the authorities", and so on and so on. fair's fair.

tick tick tick....
