A consistent issue I have noticed on the forum is many do not know or cannot discern the difference between opinion and news, or conveniently choose to ignore the difference. Tucker for instance largely deals in opinions not facts, in his time on Fox and on his new show he espouses his opinion on current news and interviews people. I do not think I have ever seen a TC segment or print piece in his later career where he has broken any NEWS that he himself has investigated as an investigative journalist. He regurgitates the news and adds his spin - opinion. It’s the same on all sides of the divide or whatever news outlet it is.

Most news corporations and journalists are truthful when they are doing news pieces, they may give more focus to certain aspects of a story but they won’t outright lie or misrepresent facts. So even when Hannity and TC were balls deep with Trump I would still at times watch Fox NEWS segments because they were news and not opinion and the journalists would do their job. Now that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t focus heavily on the aspects that suited the Fox opinion narrative but they still would not outright lie or misrepresent those things. That doesn’t mean journalists don’t sometimes get things wrong or wilfully cross the line, they do but for the majority of the time they do not.

Opinion does not equal fact… even when it is spiced up with facts.

Why the disparity in those two points of view? My theory is that he has no conscience and will say whatever he can to fuel a narrative that makes him the most money. Your conclusion may differ. If Higgins has got important, credible things to say about the election, I'll wait till a real journalist decides to cover it.

He's openly admitted to changing his mind on this issue. Just go listen to the Bret Weinstein interview and listen to how he also mentions there that 3 years ago he "would have laughed" but that he's not laughing now.

Imagine trying to use the fact that he changed his mind in accordance with the evidence presented to him as grounds for accusing him of being dishonest. :ROFL:

I think this is an aspect of the rabid left..... you're not allowed to change your mind on anything(I deliberately leave out 'based on evidence/better information' because to them it's all just a mush, and the only way to get through life is to align yourself with the most threatening source that offers you an exemption from their violence).

To them its a sign of weakness, not strength/virtue, to be able to change your mind on an issue, on the strength of its merits.

I know you know this, I'm just pointing it out explicitly in case others want to follow along ;-)

Rachel Madow just like Tucker has an opinion show, it’s not a news show and what she said was her opinion and was not NEWS. An opinion does not require accurate factual basis, it’s a speculation at best. Which is why OPINION pieces on either side of the NEWS can vary so wildly, in fact they can be polar opposites despite the NEWS underlying either being the same.
