How accurate is the coverage maps published by IBurst on their website?

I think the Individual coverage maps give a much better indication of coverage than the Total coverage maps.
Your signal is only as good as the best signal from any individual station. Two weak signals from two different sources does not produce a stronger signal, it just means there may be more continuity in your signal, since you can be handed from station to station. It does not mean greater strength as those total coverage maps would seem to suggest.

As I mentioned in Ghosthims post, My house was on the old coverage maps, however its all white on the newer maps. I suggest testing signal regardless of what the maps say.
BTW: I get 100% signal 9.7km from base.

That's the same problem I have, on the older Bryanston-bs coverage map I was in a dark green zone, the new coverage map shows that I'm right on the edge of a white zone & light green zone. Which makes me wonder if they actually didn't turn the antenna array to point in a slightly different direction, it might explain a lot of the problems I've been experiencing since January (upload signal specifically).

Makes you wonder if they can do the same with other towers. it kinda sucks then, You buy a 24month contract and then the next day, they change the array. Guess, you shouldn't buy a 24 month contract then hey?

Totally, no one should buy into a 12 or 24 month contract - not with potential Tata-Telkomonopoly on its way, and not with the increasing options in the broadband market.
Even if you never intend to switch from one service provider to the next within a 12 or 24 month period, I still recommend going for a 30 day notice contract instead - it gives the service providers a lot more to worry about & they'll probably provide better customer service & support to keep you warm & fuzzy.

I think i'll visit the midrand tower again this week and try and generate some indication of in which direction the signal is best. Have to go and buy dogfood anyways
