CPT S. Suburbs - where to live

First time I hear of someone choosing to move from the NS to the SS. Oversaturated market. Muizenberg apartments are cheap now but might end up like Strandfontien in a few years

What about the far south? I haven’t been that way for at least 10 years, so I don’t know what it’s like now, but I always liked Simons Town, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, Scarborough, etc. Feels small-towny, by the sea, while still being close enough to drive to town if you need to.

I wouldn't mind WFH at e.g Misty Cliffs. I was quite surprised there was fibre there the other day.

Lower Plumstead and parts of Diep Rivier look like good value and appear to be nice enough areas that are still well run.

You’ll be closer to the mountain but in a smaller yet significantly more expensive property, if you are happy in the northern suburbs it would make no sense to move to the s/s. I’d rather look for a better place/area out that way if there’s a scratch to itch.

Misty Cliffs is very peaceful. I spent a few hours there and it felt like I was away from the bullshit of the city:ROFL:

The views wouldn't be half bad WFH over here: https://www.property24.com/for-sale/capri/fish-hoek/western-cape/10997/111563118

That seems suspiciously cheap:unsure:

Right, the south is out.. In the back of my mind I knew it would be, but I had never actually given it a proper look and thought this time around I would, since I am looking..

In conclusion after a lot of browsing and looking, looks like about a bar or so you are paying more for the same caliber of house/suburb in the south vs the north..

While Somerset is slightly better, it still doesn't compare..

Boerewors curtain forever..!!!

What are the good suburbs to live in..? Not necessarily the expensive areas, more like, value for money, safe (as safe as one can reasonably expect in CPT), leafy green with good primary schools in vicinity..

I know the N. Suburbs, been living here for 20 years.. The south, not so much..

Need to move to something bigger and thought I would entertain the idea of looking at the South while I am looking..

dont ..you not going to get value for money in the south

i moved to the north cos of value for money

I have been looking at Robertson, Montagu, McGregor. Montagu is an awesome place, but I have not found out yet if there is fibre:
