CPU fan speed constantly VERY low

Rice grain doesn't cover the whole cpu, or well for me it doesn't

@zenbaas, the credit card technique is apparently the worst.

Its very technique sensitive...you either have great results or *** ones. As for rice grain...my cpu is always completely covered afterwards:)

just have a look in the bios cant remember exactly where but there is a place where you can change it in there.....

I got mine to run at 12000RPM but have a custom 220V fan.

WOW. Is your pc like a wind tunnel inside?

agreed :D

peder, maybe you're applying too much paste. Use only a pea sized amount

:D

Even a pea-sized amount is too much I think. I use about rice grain-sized blobs. :D

the thing is i just jumpered the yellow and black leads to the PSU and now my CPU is running at 51 avg.

So i think there was either a fault with the fan or the board(most probably the board).

@bwana i did check the caps, no problem.

And also i think that the board is on its way out cause for some reason when the board is cold it beeps for a few mins before it even attempts to start.

well seems i am still having a problem...

The fan seems to have its own mind as to how fast it wants to turn, i connected the red and yellow wires straight to the PSU and am still getting EXACTLY the same problem :(

Guess i'll have to go out and buy my 3rd CPU fan...
