what software can one use to monitor or check out the temp of ones CPU?

Intel don't have any software for Windows 7 Professional.

Been playing around with a few lately,
For Intel board, Realtemp 3.0 or Speedfan 4.39 seem accurate.

CPUID HWmonitor you need to edit the .ini as it reads 10deg too high....same goes with SIW reading 10deg too high

I havn't edited any .ini, here's my readout from CPUID HWmonitor

Temperature sensor 0 36°C (96°F) [0x24] (SYSTIN)
Temperature sensor 1 38°C (100°F) [0x4C] (CPUTIN)

at the same time
Voltage sensor 5 0.31 Volts [0xD] (+5V) is way out

TBO I wouldn't trust any of these types of programs.

RealTemp seems to be pretty well trusted by overclockers

I use the following:

http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

"Core Temp is a compact, no fuss, small footprint program to monitor CPU temperature. Now Windows Vista and Windows 7 ready! (x86 and x64)

The uniqueness of it is that it shows the temperature of each individual core in each processor in your system! You can see in real time how the CPU temperature varies when you load your CPU. It's also completely motherboard independent."

Seems to have the same problem I get with RealTemp and Speedfan (now that I think of it)

I used CPUID HWMonitor. CoreTemp just shows me a single temp with the AMD 955BE and won't show per-core temps as HWMonitor does. Temps reported are same as those shown in my BIOS so I think it is doing an accurate job. It's just my WD Caviar Black 500GB which sits at around 38C thanks to it's location on the top side of my case, but that's still a good temp I reckon and will come down once I put the side panel fans back on.

Ofcourse, on my older AMD machine these things report 50C+ harddrive temps, the CPU temp seems accurate but there's some other sensor reported as running at 126C. If that is in fact true, then this is a pretty stable old machine.

Ok maybe it depends on what CPU then, was the case with my laptop CPU (Intel Core2Duo P7450)
Had to edit TJ Max value from 100 to 90 for it to read correctly.
Real Temp picked that TJ Max value when it installed.
Now i have Real Temp/Speedfan/HWmonitor and Everest all agreeing so i can start emptying out a pc full of temp monitoring progs now that i know whats what;)
